Suzy - This is definitely an example of don't judge a book by its cover. The covers didn't grab me at first either but the written word did. I believe in May there will be a release of the first 3 books (Minder, Adversary and Legacy) in a single volume with a new cover. You can check it out here. I'm glad you'll be adding it to your TBR pile. It really is a great series :)

The way you have described this book certainly makes it sound appealing in many ways. I have to admit though, that I have never heard of Kate Kaynak and haven't read her others. Also I will admit that the cover does nothing for me... perhaps this is one of the reasons she hasn't had the recognition she deserves. Readers might not be seeing past the covers? (I haven't seen the other covers though).
I will certainly add this to my TBR pile though. Thanks!
