Attorney and political heavyweight Tobias Faraday is the Ice King, a man alone in the eye of a deadly storm. And in the wake of his sister’s torture, he’s out for blood.

The key to Tobias’s revenge is the disavowed British spy he’s kept imprisoned for weeks. Chandler McCallister can get him behind enemy lines in Russia, but the clever double-agent has a demand of her own before she puts her life on the line in the name of redemption.

Posing as Chandler’s boyfriend at an aristocratic wedding in the English countryside won’t kill Tobias. Not in theory.

As the threat of Moscow looms larger and the enemy reveals himself to be crueler than any human can imagine, Tobias reluctantly partners with his prisoner to derail the immediate threat—to their families, to Faraday Industries, and to their lives. What he finds in the process is a feverish, relentless need already melting the ice from his veins.

Why I Read This Book: I read book 1, Blamed, and really liked it. Tobias made an impression on me—I was very much looking forward to his story.

In a Nutshell: I really liked this story. Many elements worked for me. Nice follow-up to Blamed.

What I Liked: The chemistry and sexual tension between Tobias and Chandler was very intense. I liked how quickly they developed a rhythm as a couple—looking out for each other, anticipating moves/next steps. They seemed to flow seamlessly.

Tobias and Chandler each had some difficult pasts/histories to overcome—or just decide it didn’t matter anymore. I think once they understood and accepted where the other was coming from, they were all in, even willing to die for each. One of my favorite quotes from Tobias,

“…the understanding deep inside him now, clear as day, that it would always be like this. Always her for him, until he no longer drew breath.”

Big, happy sigh!

What I Didn’t Like: I think Chandler changed her mind a little too quickly for me regarding Tobias. I think I could see how Tobias’ feelings changed since he’d been watching Chandler so I could get there faster with his feelings. The whole prisoner thing made me a little squicky too.

Tobias was maybe too much of a do-gooder. Sacrificing so much for his family—just a little too much for me at times. I get the noble sacrifice but getting a little too close to martyrdom for me.

Overall Impression: Great chemistry between Tobias and Chandler. I enjoyed the book overall and look forward to the next book in the series. Crazed comes out January 11, 2016. I recommend this series to fans of romantic suspense.
