She swore never to trust him again...

Fiery mechanic Alexandra Franco should have known better. Years ago, her best friends' older brother took her virginity and broke her heart-or rather, doused it with gasoline, lit a match, and then walked away. And Alex definitely should not have indulged in another hot night with him after the fact. He's not the same boy she fell for, and she sure as hell doesn't want anything to do with the wealthy, ruthless man he's become.

Walking away from Alex was the biggest mistake of Deacon West's life. She belongs with him, and if getting her back means playing dirty, so be it. If she'll grant him a three-month, no-strings affair, he won't sell the building Alex and his sisters use for their auto repair business. Hell, he'll even sign it over to them. But will Alex ever entrust her heart to him again, or are they destined to crash and burn?

Mini-Review

Alex, the heroine, restores cars in an all-girl shop. I don’t come across many romances where the hero, let alone the heroine, is an auto mechanic. So as soon as I got to the part in the synopsis that mentions that the heroine is an auto mechanic, I knew I had to read this book. I worked in the industry for a number of years, so it’s nice to read about heroines working in a largely male dominated industry. It’s very relatable for me.

I like the way Deacon propositioned Alex to get her back. The passion and chemistry is totally there. Oh, and there’s hot sex on the hood of a car.

I liked the drama and tension between Deacon and Emily, his manipulative ex-wife, but felt it dragged on a bit. I hated Emily for what she did, and Deacon was gullible when it came to her. I was at the point where enough is enough with Emily, and wanted Deacon to cut her off already.

I look forward to reading more in this world. I only wish more authors wrote heroines who turn wrenches.
