Why I Read This Book: As I am obsessed with both MC Romance and Sarah Castille, this book was a no-brainer for me. Give me bad boys and tough girls any day. I was all in from the word go.

In A Nutshell: This book is strong, sexy, and raw. It reads easy and smooth. Most of all it’s exciting and dangerous from the very beginning, which kept me guessing all the way through.

What I Liked: My biggest like in this book is Arianne (Vexy). I love my hard-headed main characters, and I especially don’t like a weak heroine. Arianne breaks through barriers with both this story and the MC she’s fighting so hard to not fall in love with. I love that about her. She struggles to be respected even when she thinks she’ll be leaving. She never backs down.

What I Also Liked: I found the contrast between bad boy and teddy bear, surprisingly well done. Jagger is meant to be an asshole and he plays it well. He’s hard, cut, and has a take no prisoners (unless they’re Arianne) attitude. Yet, when Arianne is involved, his emotions get the best of him. The club is always his priority, but his woman is always on his radar. I found him refreshing—no too dark and not too easy to deal with. He struggled with his own conflict, as well as falling in love with the enemy. I think the author did a really good job staying true to his character, while at the same time, softening him and making him into what Arianne needed to feel safe and find her true home.

The plot itself is very well thought out and planned. A lot happens, yet I wasn’t distracted by the world or too much information, which I’ve noticed happens with some MC books. There was no information dump, and I appreciated that.

While creating a wonderful story, this author built a world of danger and intrigue, of unrepentant bad boys and the women that stand by their sides. I was glad to see the rules of the world outlined without room and followed. That’s not to say that Jagger didn’t struggle at times between his heart and his head, but he always chose the club first, and when the time came the club chose to protect him and his heart.

What I Didn’t Like: The only thing that niggles about this story is the open Axel plot, which I assume means he’ll be a thorn in the side of the next book. He was such a prominent antagonist. I’d expected and hoped his end would be in this book. I hate that he’ll get even more face time. But that may be just me.

In My Opinion: Overall, Rough Justice is definitely worth the read. It’s exciting and fast paced and so damn sexy.

  1. Great review, I just loved this book too!! Both of the characters were matched well and the heroine, she was great. I liked seeing her character develop through the story and boy could she be tough when she needed to be.
