Teague O'Malley hates pretty much everything associated with his family's name. And when his father orders him to marry Callista Sheridan to create a "business" alliance, Teague's ready to tell his dad exactly where he can stuff his millions. But then Teague actually meets his new fiancée, sees the bruises on her neck and the fight still left in her big blue eyes, and vows he will do everything in his power to protect her.
Everyone knows the O'Malleys have a dangerous reputation. But Callie wasn't aware just what that meant until she saw Teague, the embodiment of lethal grace and coiled power. His slightest touch sizzles through her. But the closer they get, the more trouble they're in. Because Callie's keeping a dark secret-and what Teague doesn't know could get him killed.

Why I Read This Book: Katee Robert is an awesome Contemporary Romance writer. If I want to read something that is guaranteed to have both compelling characters and tons of hot sexy times, I read Katee Robert.
In a Nutshell: A more suspenseful and grittier take on romance against all odds.
What I Liked: Katee Robert writes great characters and The Marriage Contract is no exception. Teague O'Malley is fantastic as the conflicted and brooding son of a Boston crime lord, while Callie, Callista Sheridan, heir to the Sheridan crime family, is pragmatic, sexy and sensitive. Katee writes characters that are both strong and vulnerable, smoldering hot, and sometimes emotional cold. The character's in The Marriage Contract are multi-dimensional and authentic with her villains being more than goons, her female characters strong, even in silence, and her side characters contributory. It was exciting to meet each character as they emerged and to watch them unfold within the greater story.
What Else I Liked: As previously mentioned, The Marriage Contract had more suspense and grit than some of Katee Robert's previous books and I loved the change. Not that I didn't love what Katee had to offer in her many books with Entangled Publishing, but her new venture with The O'Malley series is awesome and seems a little bit more mature than some of her previous offerings.
What I Didn't Like: Um...there's... uh...er... I've got nothing! I loved The Marriage Contract from start to finish. I can't wait to read more from this series and author.
Overall Impression: The Marriage Contract is a brilliant start to a new series. Katee Robert has produced another fantastic, albeit darker, novel. If you're looking for something with a bit of edge, great characters and the signature heat Katee Robert always brings, you should really grab The Marriage Contract.
