In My Pocket is a weekly feature where I share some of the links (bookish and otherwise) that I’ve collected in my Pocket. To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.
Stuff in my Pocket (and this isn’t even ALL of it!):
- So author Joanna Wylde posted this on Facebook. This is the part that stumps me: “Yesterday I finalized the last book in my current contract with Berkley publishing. Tentatively scheduled in November, 2015, Reaper's Fall will be Painter and Melanie's story.” If that is the last book contracted with the publisher, does that mean there won’t be anymore Reapers MC books?? Or maybe they just need to renew the contract? I NEED Jessica’s book!
- There’s going to be a fully illustrated edition of the Harry Potter books.
- Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 7 years ago. And I barely got my first iPhone (or smartphone, for that matter) last April.
- Here are some 2015 YA desktop wallpaper calendars. Who’s going to make some for adult romance fans?
- There’s a machine that uses an iPhone to sort M&M’s by color!
- Here’s an unboxing post for the first Amazon Kindle reader. Can you believe it cost $400?!! And it sold out in just over 5 hours.
- Anna Kendrick is convinced this cat toy is a dildo. I ♥ Anna Kendrick.
- This is what happens when you release a bunch of balls on an escalator. Is it odd, that I find this relaxing to watch?
- Anne Hathaway does a great Broadway version of rap songs.
- There’s a way to find romance books by trope. This is pretty cool. You can find books that feature a virgin hero and/or a curvy heroine. You can search for books by occupation (bikers, rockstars, athletes, pirates, etc.). You can also include a genre in your search (paranormal, clean, m/m, etc.). You’ll want to bookmark this site.
- 32 of the greatest things that happened on Tumblr in 2014. A little bit late but better late than never, right?
- There’s a ‘Sons of Anarchy’ video game.
- Fifty Shades of Grey movie clips have been released. The movie comes out on Valentine’s Day. It looks very underwhelming. There’s no chemistry between the two lead actors. Now, if there was say a Fifty Shades of Grey Lego movie, I’d definitely go watch that (thanks Katiebabs!).
- The Magic Mike XXL movie poster has been revealed and let me just say, now THAT’S good marketing! Talk about perfect word placement. And here’s the Magic Mike XXL movie trailer, for your viewing pleasure.
- The best video of the week is Jimmy Fallon went to Bayside High. Epic!
- James Patterson released the world’s first self-destructing book. This is book marketing made of awesome.
- Did you watch the Superbowl commercials? Here are my favorites: Sarah Silverman & Chelsea Handler for Wi-Fi calling from T-Mobile, SNICKERS® - “The Brady Bunch”, and 2015 Budweiser Super Bowl Commercial “Lost Dog”.
- This guy wins the ‘Coolest Dad’ award in my book. I want to do that in my house.
- 13 Incredibly Detailed Floor Plans Of The Most Famous TV Show Homes.
- Can you put on a pair of pants without using your hands AND while holding a baby? That is skills, my friend.
- Brian Williams raps ‘Who Am I?’. I love this.
- 14 Things that might not exist in 2020. That’s only 5 years away and CHOCOLATE is on that list!! *tries not to panic, breathes into paper bag*
- Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird, will have a new novel published.
I was really surprised by some of the things on the things that might not be here in 2020. Some not as much. Great list. Thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteChocolate is on that list!!! What would we do?!!
DeleteThis was a great compilation! The escalator video was strangely relaxing. I wasn't impressed with the Harry Potter book even though I LOVE HP and the wizarding world. I won't be in line opening night for Fifty. The book was less than impressive for me.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably watch FSoG when it comes on the boob tube.
