As the military liaison between the human Shifter Bureau and Shiftertown, Walker is often stuck trying to appease both sides—and angering both. So when bear-Shifter Rebecca is captured taking a run in a restricted area, Walker comes up with a compromise: if Rebecca helps him find a missing woman—thought to have been abducted by a Shifter—she won’t be charged and executed.
As a bear used to roaming for miles, Rebecca hates being confined, distrusts anything involving humans, and—worst of all—the strong and handsome Walker starts triggering her mating need. They have no choice but to work together but both Walker and Rebecca find it hard not to mix business with pleasure

In a Nutshell: YES! This is what a novella in an on-going series should be!
Why I Read This Book: Series reader.
What I Liked: This. Novella. That’s it, end of review, yes? Okay, fine, I loved the characters, the romance, and the speed of the read.
First, Rebecca and Walker are both awesome characters. Series readers met them in an earlier book, so were teased with their romance and it lived up to expectations! Rebecca is still the loving but prickly bear shifter readers love. She’s strong but still feminine, caring but independent. And Walker…what a perfect partner for Rebecca! He isn’t threatened by her power or strength but he cherishes her vulnerability and softness. This is brilliantly shown when Rebecca and Walker are forced to work together to find a missing woman. Walker and Rebecca work as a team and truly compliment each other.
The romance between Rebecca and Walker is one of the best in the series. They have an emotional pull that is palpable from novella’s beginning to the very emotional ending. Romance fans will love Rebecca and Walker.
What I Have to Mention: It’s so rare to have a long novella like this one and it worked perfectly! I got the time I needed with the characters and their relationship developed naturally. The romance never felt rushed and the plot perfectly paced. I wish I could tell other authors to look to this for what makes a great novella.
IMO: Series fans will die for this addition; new readers should greatly enjoy Rebecca and Walker’s romance, along with the mystery plot to hang the stellar romance on. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 frogs is because I’m not sure I’ll re-read it.
