Some cowboys are worth getting dirty for.

In her latest adventure, sassy Deputy Laney Briggs discovers the local high school football coach passed out under the stadium bleachers wearing nothing but a smile…and his wife’s lingerie.

Things really start to get wild when she runs into the smoking hot Federal Marshal, Colt Larsen, snooping around the Granger’s house. Quicker than a cold snap comes and goes in Texas, Laney finds herself up to her eyeballs in a case involving a ruthless motorcycle gang, a Mexican drug cartel, a kidnapping, and a shoot-out to rival the O.K. Corral.

In over their heads, Laney calls in the big guns—her very own Texas Ranger, Gunner Wilson, who’s ready to fulfill every last one of her desires. But as things heat up between them, the stakes get higher than ever, and Gunner’s help may not be enough for Laney to get out alive…

In a Nutshell: This story didn't work for me. The clichés and metaphors were too much for me. And the cowboy/country bumpkin stereotypes quickly got on my nerves.

What I Liked: I appreciate Laney embracing her sexuality. She's not shy about at least thinking about sex all the time.

What I Didn’t Like: But I was turned off when she kept thinking about how desperate she was for sex and thinking how sexy the Colt, the Federal Marshal was – when she has her own hot Texas Ranger boyfriend, Gunner.

Laney was also a little too volatile for me. I like a feisty, gutsy heroine but she was too over-the-top for me. It seemed to me she was always picking fights with her boyfriend, and maybe that's their thing, but it was too much for me. She was abrasive with everyone else too – I didn't sense anyone she was kind or nice to. And I don't remember any loving thoughts or words for her boyfriend other than sexy times. I couldn’t figure out why they were together other than sex. Sometimes that works but I thought they were supposed to be committed and building a life together outside the bedroom.

The main storyline was pretty crazy to me too. Way too many problems to keep track of along with the guy problems.

Overall Impression: This wasn’t my kind of story. I couldn't like the heroine. I also thought the clichés were over the top. There's a sexy shower scene with backdoor action so be aware if that's not your thing.
