Dear Reader,Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.
As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.
But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?

Why I Read This Book: This is actually the third or fourth time I've read this book. I am about to re-read the Dark Hunter series so I wanted to start at the beginning.
In a Nutshell: A steamy PNR that will both make you cry and want to run and check facts in history books.
What I Liked: This story has a good balance of fun, sexy, and serious. The plot drove the story forward at a good pace and the characters had amazing sexual chemistry. The pages were scorching and definitely worth the read. Julian was sexy and demanding in a way that most woman would find appealing while still maintaining a sensitive side.
What I Didn't Like: The antagonist was easily dealt with, almost predictable. The guy still did some damage but his whole plot line was very predictable.
In My Opinion: Ridiculous sexy read and the start to an appealing series.
Monica’s Rating:
I totally forgot about this book! But when I read it, it had a red cover. I read this when it came out judging by the pub date. A co-worker (at that time) had loaned it to me. It was the 1st book I'd read in over 10 years. I remember liking it but I never read any of the other books.
ReplyDeleteLove this series. I was thinking of doing a series re-read (at least the initial batch of books) after I finish my reread of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
ReplyDeleteI think I wasn't reading PNR when this book came out, but its right up my alley! I guess I need to look up the series!
