Born during a Christmas blizzard, Jane Williams receives a rare gift: the ability to see true love. Jane has emerged from an ailing childhood a lonely, hopeless romantic when, on her twenty-ninth birthday, a mysterious greeting card arrives, specifying that Jane must identify the six types of love before the full moon following her thirtieth birthday, or face grave consequences. When Jane falls for a science writer who doesn’t believe in love, she fears that her fate is sealed. Inspired by the classic song, The Look of Love is utterly enchanting.

In a Nutshell: Woman believes she has a neurological condition that turns out to be the ability to see love. She begins to observe it in her friends and family while trying to figure out her own love life.
Why I Read This Book: To be honest because it was there. I had the book in my bag while I was waiting and so I gave it a try. Read it in a couple of days. Had a decent premise and seemed to be a fun partial-holiday book.
What I Liked: I liked the unique premise and inspiration. The author says she was inspired to write this book by the song The Look for Love, which is pretty cool. The cover is great, makes me think of Mad Men (or women) and the era of the 60's. Jane was a decent character, if a little two dimensional, and I liked the way the book was sort of split up in different stories.
What I Didn't Like: As I mentioned, Jane seemed to lack a little depth. I never really felt a strong connection to her. I also never felt the chemistry with the man in her life, at all. The climax was a tad predictable but well written and the resolution was strong.
Overall Impression: A quick fun holiday read that brings to mind the movies Valentine's Day and New Years Eve. Love stories intertwine to create an overall theme.

I really like the cover for this too, so I can see why you picked it up. I don't think it's for me, though. I really need characters that I can connect to and it sounds like that was laking. Great review.
