I’ve enjoyed paranormals by this author so when I saw she was starting a new series I had to try it. I really liked the world building in this short novella, as some humans have X-Men like powers and form their own society. Angela is suddenly pulled into this world when the man she thinks is just a fellow scientist uses her as bait to catch a killer. The attraction between Angela and Niko is well done though the novella is much too short for much emotional intimacy. Still, I was intrigued enough by the world building and hints at secondary characters Wolfe and Arel, two of Niko’s fellow Sentinels, that I’ll be on the lookout for the next in the series.
