A few hard truths...Don’t bet on Hasselhoff, Bigfoot might actually exist, and searching for the impossible may lead you to your heart’s desire...It’s a big fat hairy deal when I lose yet another bet to my best friend, Rena. Not only do I end up attending Bigfoot meetings with her kooky Aunt Phyllis, I find myself traveling with a band of reality TV, Sasquatch-hunting nut-jobs! Not to mention a suspiciously shady film crew. As if those little nuggets weren’t enough to send me on the express-train to Crazytown...I stupidly swore off men!
Clearly all this would mess up any gal’s social life, but the worst part of the story? The minute I send my libido on vacation, I meet Mitch. Yep, Mitch, the sexiest cop ev-ah. The hottest, best kissing, finest tushied, SINGLE guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d rather be hot on his trail than anything that involves the word Big or Foot. But sometimes what you’re hunting for has been right in front of you all along …

In A Nutshell: Our heroine, Kristy, makes one bet too many and ends up on a whirlwind adventure with a bunch of Bigfoot believers on the trail of both the elusive beast AND true love.
Note: The true love is a gorgeous cop named Mitch, not Bigfoot. It's not that kind of book.
The Set Up: Kristy's ill advised bet with her best friend Rena leads to madness and mayhem with a group of hilarious Bigfoot believers and some sketchy reality TV producers. At the same time, Kristy's sworn off men, which of course means that a hot, available cop has just entered the scene. Let the madness ensue!
Why I Read This Book: I discovered Robyn Peterman's first book How Hard Can It Be, by pure chance and I'm so glad I did. Robyn Peterman has this fantastically kooky/dirty/off the wall sense of humour that totally turns my crank.
I also find Peterman's books to be a great change of pace from the dark, moody books I usually read. I kind of think of her books as a hilarious, literary, palate cleanser.
What I liked: The heroine, Kristy, is awesome. She's an every woman with a wicked sense of humour and a flare for the absurd. Honestly, I wish she was real. I'd stalk her until she agreed to be my best friend.
What I also liked: Robyn Peterman doesn't do cookie-cutter story lines. Her novels are completely out there, but also oddly, not out of the ordinary. Does that make sense?
What I Didn't Like: Kristy is constantly praying to Lutheran Jesus. Is it a regional thing? Size Matters takes place in the American Midwest so...? Whatever the reason, it was repeated over and over and over again by Kristy and her friend Rena. Maybe there should be a "Ways to Blaspheme" Thesaurus?
Overall Impression: If you want/need a slapstick-esque romance with adventure you need to read Size Matters.
