In My Pocket is a weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- 50 things you will never forget. Okay, I don’t remember all of the things but the ones I do, bring back memories. And look, more memories from the 90s!
- People nailing the parenting thing. Some made me laugh, and one in particular (Fletcher’s dad) made me all teary eyed.
- It’s the day after Halloween and the pumpkins are hung-over.
- If you are overdue for the case of the warm and fuzzies, here are some heartwarming random acts of kindness.
- Some pretty creative business names.
- Kindle MatchBook is here! Get Kindle editions of your print book purchases fro $2.99 or less (US only).
- Read Books and Blog did a fun post on book anagrams, where you guess which YA books the anagrams are.
- “I saw your penis for sale on Craigslist and would like to take it for a test drive tonight.” – Best autocorrect fail ever!
- This method of grounding kids is genius. It’s just as good as the chore list for the day’s Wi-Fi password.
- I never would have never considered using Microsoft Word to make book covers. I’m impressed!
- Ready for some more reminiscing? Let’s go back to the 80s this time.
- There’s this guy, Joey Graceffa, who’s apparently a YouTube star, and he posted a video where he finds out that his car has either been stolen or towed. But that’s not the best part. No, the best part is that the guy who had Joey Graceffa’s car towed made a video response. Love it!
- Asti from A Bookish Heart made a HUGE list of possible discussion topics, from A to Z.
- This guy’s video about a toy doll that shoots real flames out of its crotch is the best YouTube video I’ve seen all year! I keep watching it, it’s so damn funny!!
- People caught reading Fifty Shades of Grey in public. The last picture – OMG!!
- Have you seen the OFFICIAL Catching Fire movie trailer?
- Author Veronica Roth wrote a post (with SPOILERS) about her thoughts regarding the ending in Allegiant. SPOILERS abound so DO NOT click on that link unless you’ve read the book or you don’t mind having the book completely spoiled.
- Anya from On Starships & Dragonwings did a post on the truth about NetGalley’s feedback ratio. It’s an informative post worth reading because Anya reached out to NetGalley and NetGalley’s very own Tarah Theoret help shed some light on this new element.
- And I leave you with this: the internet is an incredible source. Back in 1964, Ringo Star took a picture of some teenagers in the car next to his and just recently found out who those people are.
OMG the Fifty Shades and pumkin posts are hilarious!!!
