Two Stellar M/M Romance Freebies

As you may suspect, I am a voracious reader. I read about 100 pages an hour and nearly 500 books a year, not counting re-reads, non-fiction or magazines. Unfortunately this means I have no TBR pile and am always on a quest for new reads.

In my ongoing quest, I found the Love Is Always Write Event sponsored by the Goodreads M/M Romance group.  Some of these stories are very short and very underdeveloped, in my opinion, but I’ve found two absolute gems that I must share with fellow M/M readers. These are free via download from the Goodreads site by searching for the title. They can also be found for a buck or so on Amazon and All Romance Books, sometimes in volume format at a higher price. Given that these are unconventionally published access to them may change quickly so get ‘em while you can and don’t blame me if something changes!

We met onboard, both of us so very young - still in our teens - but we were old enough to serve our country. And against all odds, and the many risks involved, we fell in love and have managed to stay together for the last 60 years. Now, as our time together inevitably gets shorter and shorter, I can’t wait any longer for the right to finally marry the man I’ve loved all these years.

This is a stellar story of nearly 200 pages that starts with two young sailors exploring their feelings for each other and trying to stay alive in World War II. Daniel and Jacob are young when they met and come of age together in the harshness of WWII. They spend the next sixty years loving each other through family crisis, jealousy, Stonewall and finally civil unions in New York. This amazing story of a passionate love affair told over time is an emotional and erotic romance, just be sure you have the tissues nearby!

The Lion and the Crow by Eli EastonTitle: The Lion and the Crow
Author: Eli Easton
Genre: Historical Romance, M/M Romance
Sensuality Rating: Erotic
Source: free download via Goodreads
Published: M/M Romance Group at Goodreads

This is a tale about two medieval English knights—Sir William Corbet, aka the Lion, and Sir Christian Brandon, aka The Crow. In a time when duty was everything, personal honor was more valued than life itself, and homosexuality was not tolerated by the church or society, how can these two men reconcile their deepest, most secret yearnings to love another man?

I loved this long novella about two knights going on a journey only to fall in love. Christian has been tortured by his six half-brothers and developed a quiet intensity. William is a gentle giant whose honor and integrity make him refuse to take advantage of Christian. These two spend the entire journey together learning to value, respect and love each other. I adored their romance and the HEA ending that still struck true to the historical setting.
