Thursday Thirteen: Things I Want to Do by Year’s End

Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen is a weekly meme with a simple theme: each Thursday you blog a list of 13 things. What kind of things? Any kind! Just come up with a list theme and run with it.

Brianna’s List:

  1. Remove my reviews from BookLikes. When I did the import, it posted all of my reviews in the blog section and me no likey. And because they don’t have a mass delete option, I got to do this one by one which will be a tedious task.
  2. Remove my reviews from Goodreads. I have decided to stay on Goodreads, since I mainly use the site to track my reading and catalog my books, but I will no longer post my reviews on the site.
  3. Back up my Kindle books.
  4. Organize my ebooks on Calibre, including metadata.
  5. Catalog all my books (print books and ebooks) on Goodreads.
  6. Organize my bookcases. (This goes hand in hand with #5.) Both of my bookcases are a mess right now. I’d like to go thru my print books and get rid of some.
  7. Get current with my review request TBR pile.
  8. Get current with writing reviews.
  9. Stop eating chocolate.
  10. Loss 10 lbs. (Related to #9.)
  11. Get ahead on formatting and scheduling posts, specifically these Thursday Thirteen posts. I have a TON of topics lined up, and J9 has provided her lists for most of them. I just need to format and schedule them so that I’m not doing them last minute (like I am with this one).
  12. Reach my goal of reading 100 books. Sadly, I don’t think this is going to happen but I’m still going to try.
  13. Research some Kindle lending sites (the sites that match up lenders and borrowers to lend/borrow Kindle books LEGALLY via Amazon’s Kindle Lending feature). So far I’ve come across Lendle and BookLending. I think I’ll list my lendable Kindle books on both sites.

J9’s List:

  1. Run the Galloping Gobbler 10k and run the 6.3 miles in under an hour.
  2. Hit my reading goal of 450 books.
  3. Wash my house windows.
  4. Run 300 miles before January 1.
  5. Only eat potato chips once a week.
  6. Eat 3 bananas a week to help with running cramps.
  7. Clean out my closet.
  8. Buy new compression jacket for winter running.
  9. Deal with my busted roof from this summer's hail and derecho storms.
  10. Weed my hideous front flowerbed.
  11. Volunteer to answer my pubic radio's phone during pledge week.
  12. Only eat frozen yogurt once a month.
  13. Post on tumbler a minimum of once a week.

  1. I'm with you on the stop eating chocolate thing. It's hard to do!!! I eat so much more junk food now, as a mom, than ever before. I guess it's a combination of stress and the junk being readily available in my kitchen!

    1. It's SO hard. But if I don't give it up, I'll never lose weight.

  2. Organizing Calibre is a regular event in my household, otherwise I go crazy with having to add metadata to a gazillion books.

  3. I have never organized my Calibre. My organizational method is to only have unread books in it. But I'm not sure how well that is working.

  4. I think my Calibre would die of shock if I tried some organization. I've been dieting lately too. I did the 5.2 diet and that's working well. Good luck with that chocolate :)

  5. I've never understood the purpose of Calibre. I have it on my computer and every tiime I open it, I'm like ...huh, why do I have this?

J9 - I could eat frozen yogurt every. single. day. It's one of my favorite treats and there's a great shop one block from work that I walk by almost every day when walking back from lunch.

5lbs. I would be completely happy with just dropping 5lbs by Jan 1.

    2. I mainly use Calibre to convert files and to send ebooks to my Kindle (instead of side loading).
