In My Pocket is a weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- Author Jeaniene Frost announced that the Night Huntress series (aka Cat & Bones) will end with book 7, Up From the Grave. I’ve only read the first 4 books in this series, so I need to catch up.
- Did you know that the movie Pretty Woman was originally titled 3000? Thank goodness that didn’t happen. Here are more movie titles that almost happened but didn’t.
- Is Anne Hathaway a time-traveler or a vampire?
- Publisher Random House announced earlier this month that Dr. Seuss’ books would be coming to ereaders. You can get them on Kindle, but in my opinion, they’re ridiculously priced.
- The unofficial movie trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey with Alexis Bledel as Anastasia and Matt Bomer as Christian. I can totally see Matt Bomer as CG but now that I’m watching SOA, I am very curious to see how Charlie Hunnam will portray the character.
- Need something to brighten your day? Change all the names in your friend’s phone to Harry Potter characters. *dies* I highly recommend following B for Bel. I get a good laugh every day because of that site.
- Here are 50 one sentence tips for bloggers. I’ve bookmarked this one.
- Looking for a bookish meme to join? Girlxoxo made a master list of book blogging memes.
- Funny wrong number texts. LOL hilarious!
- And if that wasn’t enough, because really, who doesn’t need more laughter in their day, here’s more funny wrong number texts.
- HBO should show dongs – YES! It’s only fair. (NSFW)
- I am totally loving Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He’s a great actor and now director. I can’t believe I missed his opening skit a la Magic Mike on SNL. I may have watched it a few times. The moment at 1:59 *dies*
- J9, my partner in crime, sent me this ‘Blurred Lines’ feminist parody. Awesome.
- Publisher Entangled is looking for submissions for their Brazen line. Deadline is November 15th.
- Author Jennifer Estep announced that there will be at least TWO more Elemental Assassin books coming out after The Spider (book 10). More Gin for the win! If you haven’t read this urban fantasy series, get on it STAT.
- Apparently Volvo’s new line of trucks are so easy to drive, a hamster can do it. It’s a cool video to watch, knowing that man and hamster are okay, but they cray-cray. Can you imagine the brainstorming session for this advert? “I know! Let’s have the driver use only ONE finger to steer the truck on the winding road!” Other marketing person says “No, dude. Let’s get a HAMSTER in a hamster wheel to do it. And the driver will direct it with a carrot” O.o
- Book Nerd Reviews has an awesome feature called Cakes Inspired by Fiction. These Harry Potter cakes are made of awesome.
- I love me a good hack so here are some food hacks.
- I love creative and funny Vines. They’re entertaining. And these Vines of misheard lyrics are quite entertaining.
- Here are some….interesting tattoos. Check out Pinocchio. *winks*
- Samantha gave me this link to the SOA wiki. I absolutely love this. I read each episode recap after watching, to make sure I didn’t miss a thing. And once I’m all caught up on the show, I’m going to dig around in the site more.
Hey, thanks so much Brianna for linking to Book Nerd Reviews and our post on the Harry Potter cakes! We thought they were pretty delicious looking also! hehe

I love looking at the cakes :)
DeleteI haven't read FSOG, but from everything I've heard of it, I've gotta say that the casting in that video seems much more like what I would imagine the characters as than the actual casting does.
ReplyDeleteI am very curious to see Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey.
