In My Pocket is a weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In J9's Pocket:
- I love the author Piper Vaughn and she eloquently answer Why Do I write Gay Romance.
- I love this response to the term "mommy porn".
- I have been anxiously awaiting Tina Folsom's first MM romance in her Scanguard Vampire series. Thomas has been in love with his best friend Eddie for 7 books and we finally get a peek at their romance with an exclusive 6 chapter free-view!
- This was a very interesting article written by Treva Harte, the editor of Loose ID, one of the first MM romance publishers about what happens if the genre goes mainstream.
- Ever since I read and reviewed the MF romance novel Painted Faces I've been curious about drag queens. This was an interesting interview with a Colorado man who is also a drag queen.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- Brie tweeted this hilarious video about the funniest game show answers of all time and it was the best 15 minutes I’ve spent recently.
- Here’s a trick to make lawn mowing easy. I seriously want to try this.
- I think J9 will like this, being the foodie that she is: National flags created from the foods each country is commonly associated with.
- It’s good to know that there are still good, honest people in this world.
- These grandparents have created an app to do more than just stay in contact with their grandchildren’ they want to interact with their grandchildren. I’m waiting for the Apple Store to approve it so I can try it out with my kids and their Nana.
- Have you heard of the Cup Song, the one sung by Anna Kendrick? If not, check it out. Then check out this guy who took it up a notch and made an extreme edition of the Cup Song. Here’s another Cup Song video I found. Yeah, I spend way too much time on YouTube. (And while linking this, I got distracted and watched another 4 Cup Song videos O.O)
- See what happens when brands have words with one another on Twitter. The convo between AMC Theaters and Oreo is made of awesome.
- Have you seen some book bloggers using 3D book covers and wondered how did they do that? Well, Christine over at Oh, Chrys! has a tutorial for that and she shows you how to do it for FREE.
- Here are some everyday products a lot of people have been using wrong. #10!! That’s all I’ll say.
- I love watching creative stop motion videography. If you do too, you’ll enjoy that link.
- Amazon introduced Kindle MatchBook: “For thousands of qualifying books, your past, present, and future print-edition purchases will soon allow you to buy the Kindle edition for $2.99, $1.99, $0.99, or free.” Consider my interest piqued. Also Amazon has announced an all-new Kindle Paperwhite.
Who knew there were tabs on the foil and plastic rolls??? Well, okay, I was all excited about that, then the hubs said "Well of course there are tabs. How did you not know that?". I hate when he does that. Still, very happy to have learned this.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I just learned about that within the last couple of years. I bet many people aren't aware of the tabs.
DeleteLove the brand tweets-hilarious!
