In My Pocket is a weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- Five iPhone/iPad tips and tricks you may or may not already be aware of. I wasn’t aware of #1 and have been using it ever since watching the video. I knew about the bonus tip, which is good to know in case the Home button ever stops working.
- We’ve all heard the saying ‘Never judge a book by its cover’. Here’s an updated list of sayings, adapted with technology in mind. I have to agree; ‘the tweet is mightier than the sword’. LOL
- After checking out the site that my last link was from, I see that they’ve added more sayings. Check out Sayings 2.1 too. Great minds share the same news articles. ;)
- There’s a vibrator that can sync with your durrrty, smutty audiobooks and adjusts speed accordingly. O.O
- Karma: parking lot style.
- Check out this mail-ordered tampon/pad service commercial. I think the girl in the commercial is too young to be the face of this service but that issue aside, it’s a pretty funny commercial. ‘It’s like Santa, for your vagina.’ *dies*
- You can find a video tutorial on just about everything, including how to kiss harder.
- A man gave his neighbor a ride home, and the song "Blurred Lines" came on. It got weird, and he made a Vine of it.
- Google Glass: Don’t be a glasshole. I can just imagine how annoying some people will be when Google Glass goes mainstream.
- This guy gets random women to do The Notebook rain kiss.
- There’s a Vine video gone viral that shows a truck launching over a guardrail. First of all, why is the driver filming video while driving?? That aside, it’s an amazing video that was recorded at just the right time.
- Guys, your attempt to pick up the ladies is all wrong unless you do it at the bookstore. Trust me.
- If you’re into organization, here’s a free 2013 Blog Planner for you. There’s a free 2014 Blog Planner as well.
- I tweeted this a few days ago but it’s worth mentioning again. And it’s definitely NSFW! Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd did a full frontal nude scene in True Blood. You’re welcome and I gladly accept reward in the form of chocolate.
OMG that shift swipe to letter for caps may be life changing for me. Has no clue!
ReplyDeleteI mean "had" no clue.
DeleteI know, I love that tip!
DeleteLove the idea of picking up women in a bookstore-I'd go out with a guy who bought a book for me :)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? It would probably work on me, if I were single.
DeleteThey had the founder of Hello Flo on an online networking group I'm part of--at least one of the kits is for girls just starting their period. The service is also geared toward mothers with daughters (not just women in general). The idea and marketing campaign both are brilliant. The commercial is freaking hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThat period commercial is just so funny. Thanks for the laugh this morning.
ReplyDeleteThe iPhone/Pad tips are awesome! I'm definitely going to be using those, especially the keyboard symbol ones. Sometimes typing on the iDevices is so tedious. Plus the four finger swipe is one that I've accidently used before when I didn't know what I was doing. My screen would change to a different app and then I couldn't get back to where I was - drove me crazy. Now I can actually use it to help instead of being befuddled by it.
I found out about the four-finger swipe from my toddler. She was moving all around in my iPad and it took me a while to figure out how she was doing it! LOL
