My Bookish Wants & Gots is a monthly feature that will post on the first Saturday of the month. I list the books I want - which can be old, new, or upcoming releases - and the books I recently got. My Bookish Wants & Gots was inspired by Book Chick City’s On My Wishlist and the Mailbox Monday meme.
Full Throttle (Fast Track #7) by Erin McCarthy
Easing into the turns…As one of only two girls on the tween racing circuit, Shawn Hamby has always run with a fast crowd. But now at thirty-two, she doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. And she definitely doesn’t need a man bossing her around off of the track…
Putting the pedal to the metal…
But after a silly girls’ night at a fetish club, Shawn can’t get Rhett Ford out of her mind. He’s younger than her, and he’s her best friend’s brother-in-law, which should be red flags. Rhett is looking for someone to lead in bed, but he can’t imagine that Shawn would ever submit to him. Boldly surrendering is more her style. And with Rhett behind the wheel, it’s going to be one wild ride…
I need to catch up on this series but that doesn’t stop me from wanting each new installment.
Covet by Tracey Garvis-Graves
What if the life you wanted, and the woman you fell in love with, belonged to someone else?Chris and Claire Canton’s marriage is on life support. Downsized during the recession and out of work for a year, Chris copes by retreating to a dark place where no one can reach him, not even Claire. When he’s offered a position that will keep him away from home four nights a week, he dismisses Claire’s concern that time apart could be the one thing their fragile union can’t weather. Their suburban life may look idyllic on the outside, but Claire has never felt so disconnected from Chris, or so lonely.
Local police officer Daniel Rush used to have it all, but now he goes home to an empty house every night. He pulls Claire over during a routine traffic stop, and they run into each other again at the 4th of July parade. When Claire is hired to do some graphic design work for the police department, her friendship with Daniel grows, and soon they’re spending hours together.
Claire loves the way Daniel makes her feel, and the way his face lights up when she walks into the room. Daniel knows that Claire’s marital status means their relationship will never be anything other than platonic. But it doesn’t take long before Claire and Daniel are in way over their heads, and skating close to the line that Claire has sworn she’ll never cross.
I haven’t read her On the Island novel (yet) because the May/December trope and student/teacher relationship weirds me out. I don’t know if I’ll ever read it but I want to read something by this author. And I don’t normally read novels about married couple, or more specifically a marriage on the rocks. Covet sounds like it might be outside my reading comfort zone with the possibility of a cheating element, however, despite my hesitations, my interest has been piqued by this author and the premise. The only thing keeping me from reading this book (besides the fact it’s not out yet) is the price of $11 for the Kindle edition. At that price, I’ll have to wait for when/if my library gets a copy.
Frigid (Frigid #1) by J. Lynn, Jennifer L. Armentrout
For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.
But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.
Friends to lovers trope? Yes, please! OMG yes!

When he misses the fact that his bachelor auction hookup is a virgin, he’s shocked by his obliviousness, and by the risk she took. To make amends, Ben offers Rachel all he can: a no-strings-attached sexual education.
Ben’s lessons introduce Rachel to down and dirty passion, but she’s searching for something more profound than sex, and she’s willing to walk away to find it. Ben can’t get Rachel out of his head, but will he come to terms with his troubled past and learn to love?
I normally stay away from I'm on a mission to lose my v-card tropes but when I read BACHELOR AUCTION, I figured I could overlook that v-card thing.

Well, looky here! There’s an interactive romance novel coming out this month! I go this for review and will have probably already read this (and re-read it to cover all the options) by the time this Bookish Wants & Gots post goes live.
Nailing His Target by Cari Quinn
She’s ready to unleash her wild side, granny panties and all.Serial monogamist Emma Donegan has never had a one-night-stand—and she’s definitely never propositioned a smokin’-hot guy while wearing decidedly unattractive lingerie. But when she sees the sexy cop stripper at a friend’s bachelorette party, she resolves to make her most risqué fantasies come true.
Playing the part of a stripper is way out of private detective Shane Madison’s comfort zone, but the future of his business hangs on this one case. Too bad the incriminating evidence leads right to the irresistible brunette who keeps slipping tens into his G-string. Shane’s had a few too many career mishaps, and he’s almost positive he’s on the verge of another. Because the one woman he can’t stay away from is the same woman making it so hard for him to remember his priorities.
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published as Conquered in 2011.
A private detector going undercover as a stripper? Yes, please.
Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison by Piper Kerman
With a career, a boyfriend, and a loving family, Piper Kerman barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money ten years before. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to fifteen months at the infamous federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now inmate #11187–424—one of the millions of people who disappear “down the rabbit hole” of the American penal system. From her first strip search to her final release, Kerman learns to navigate this strange world with its strictly enforced codes of behavior and arbitrary rules. She meets women from all walks of life, who surprise her with small tokens of generosity, hard words of wisdom, and simple acts of acceptance. Heartbreaking, hilarious, and at times enraging, Kerman’s story offers a rare look into the lives of women in prison—why it is we lock so many away and what happens to them when they’re there.
I finished watching the first season of the Netflix series and I need more. I'm also curious to see how the tv series differs from the memoir.

Reader Advisory: Seduced is an upper-level NA romance appropriate for mature audiences over 18 due to graphic sex and drug references.
This one sounds like an interesting New Adult novel, plus it's only 99¢. You know me, I can't resist a 99¢ Kindle Deal.
