Thursday Thirteen: Series I’ve Been Meaning to Read

Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen is a weekly meme with a simple theme: each Thursday you blog a list of 13 things. What kind of things? Any kind! Just come up with a list theme and run with it.

Brianna’s List:

  1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I have all 6 books, I should read them. But I’m burned out on YA and PNR.
  2. Lord of the Underworld by Gena Showalter. It sounds similar to the BDB series so I wanted to read it. Only problem is I’ve been burned out on PNR so I don’t know when I’ll get to this one.
  3. Kitty Norville by Carrie Vaughn. Came highly recommended.
  4. Riley Jenson Guardian by Keri Arthur. Came highly recommended.
  5. Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews. Came highly recommended.
  6. Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter. Came highly recommended.
  7. Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Came highly recommended.
  8. Cut & Run by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux. J9 got me the first book, so I need to read it. She keeps hounding me about it, damn book pusher. LOL
  9. Colbana Files by J.C. Daniels. I don’t know if I’m emotionally ready for this one yet (I’ve heard what these books have done to readers) but I’m dying to know and want to see for myself.
  10. Southern Roads by Stephanie Bond. I read the novella (book #0.5) and I was hooked. I don’t know why I haven’t read this series yet.
  11. Shaede Assassin by Amanda Bonilla. Female assassin, need I say more?
  12. Katherine “Kitty” Katt by Gini Koch. I keep hearing about this Martini guy. I’m not a fan of science fiction but people keep raving about this series so I’m curious and will have to give it a try.
  13. The Disillusionists by Carolyn Crane. I just learned today that Carolyn Crane is also Annika Martin, who wrote The Hostage Bargain (which I reviewed today).

J9’s List:

  1. Dark Horse series by Kate Sherwood. It's on Best of MM lists but it's an MMM ménage story and I'm not sure I'm that adventurous.
  2. Adrien English Mystery series by Josh Lanyon. I love this author and want to read everything of his.
  3. PsyCop series by Jordan Castillo Price. Heard great things about this series but not sure how I'll like the paranormal element.
  4. Special Forces  series by Aleksandr Voinov. This is also on a lot of Best of MM lists but the 3,338 page count overwhelms me a bit.
  5. Sci-Regency series by J.L. Langley. Lots of people love this space opera which is different than typical MM settings so I'd like to try it.
  6. Holmes & Moriarity series by Josh Lanyon. No further explanation necessary.
  7. Special Delivery series by Heidi Cullinan. Don't think book 1 is available as an ebook and I'm not reading book 2 without book 1.
  8. Florida Books series by K.A. Mitchell. Not sure why I haven't picked these up yet…
  9. Bad in Baltimore series by K.A. Mitchell. Again, dunno why I haven't read this.
  10. Home series by Cardeno C. As shallow as it makes me sound, I don't love the covers so haven't read the series yet but I should as I really enjoy this author's books.
  11. Quinn Security series by Cameron Dane. The price-to-size ratio makes me reluctant to try this series ($4.74 for 97 pages for book one...)
  12. Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. Love her Psy-Changeling series but couldn't get 25 pages into book 1 of this series--want to try again.
  13. The Administration series by Manna Francis. This dystopian MM series has rabid fans but at each ebook is nearly $10 and I just can't justify that price--yet!

    1. We gotta read VA already! It's like we're the last of the few who haven't read it yet. LOL

  3. From all those series I only read three and loved those so you should definitely get into them. VA, Lux and LotU. The first two are YA, but things are more than just broken hearts and loving kisses, more action than I would expect. And Lotu I only read two books, so I'm also behind, but it was similar to BDB, so a really good paranormal.

  6. J9: Should I send you one of the Home books and see if I can electronically remove the cover? ;) (p.s. Thank you for the kind comment! Oh, and p.p.s. The PsyCop series is fantastic. Very unique voice.)

    1. Ah! Sorry, Cardeno, that you had to catch me being a cover slut (as Bri calls it). Thanks for the rec on PsyCop--maybe I'll bump it up to read. Thanks!

  7. I definitely recommend Crane's series. It is wicked cool and different. I still haven't read the last book. I love the Kitty Katt series because it is SO funny. Those characters are so much fun. Lots of entertainment. LOTU, Vampire Academy and Kitty Norville are also great, when you get around to them. :)
