My Bookish Wants & Gots is a monthly feature that will post on the first Saturday of the month. I list the books I want - which can be old, new, or upcoming releases - and the books I recently got. My Bookish Wants & Gots was inspired by Book Chick City’s On My Wishlist and the Mailbox Monday meme.

This sounds like a celebrity falls in love with a commoner trope which I LOVE. (When I was getting this post together, and gathering my links, I noticed that this one is just 99¢ on Amazon. Bought! I have a hard time resisting a book when it’s only 99¢. Want ---> GOT!)
Fire in Her Eyes (Summer Love #1) by Amanda Heath
Spencer and I have been enemies for as long as I can remember. Though it wasn't hard to fall into lust with him. And things seemed to be headed to love before unspeakable things happened to me...Spencer was supposed to be my rock. My angel. He turned out to be none of those things. What he did hurt more then the tragedy. I don't think I will ever be able to forgive him...
Not that he hasn't tried to win me back over. His new actions leave me wondering if love can really forgive anything?
My name is Harley Maxton and this is my story.
Sounds like there’s a lot of tension in this book. I like tension.
Unravel Me (Unravel Me #1) by Kendall Ryan
Psychology student Ashlyn Drake’s neat, orderly life takes a turn for the crazy when she finds the perfect subject for her amnesia thesis – a young man without any memory of his previous life, including the murder he’s accused of committing.Against all common sense, Ashlyn’s drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Perhaps it’s that he’s so incredibly male, and even handcuffed to his hospital bed he could pass for a cologne ad – Scent de Insanity. Or perhaps it’s because she’s spent too many lonely nights studying. Either way, she’s determined to help him solve the mystery of his past. She begins to unravel who he was before, using his cryptic tattoos, and his paintings that scream of a dark past as her only clues. When she finally learns his secret there’s no telling which one is the real him, the gentle lover she’s fallen for or the troubled man with a dark past.
The premise for this book is so OUT THERE, it caught my interest.

Uniformly Hot! The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell!
Man in uniform? Check. Smart heroine? Check. Heroine who falls for the type of guy on her no-no list? Check! I also grabbed this one free on Kindle and it’s STILL FREE.
The Italian's Inexperienced Mistress (Harlequin Presents, #2621) by Lynne Graham
When Angelo Riccardi sought revenge Gwenna Hamilton added another, delicious dimension. Innocent and pretty, she had no chance when the Italian tycoon offered her the devil's bargain: pay for her father's freedom with her body.In her naiveté, Gwenna thought that Angelo would tire of her and her innocence very quickly. But he had more in mind than just one night…
Okay, here’s the thing – I’ve yet to read a Harlequin Presents novel because the heroes seem to be arrogant assholes. But when I saw this free on Kindle, I had to get it so I can see for myself. Gotta try at least one, right? (And it’s still free on Kindle if you’d like to grab a copy.)
Wait for You (Wait for You #1) by J. Lynn
Some things are worth waiting for…Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…
I like J. Lynn’s writing so I bought this one as soon as it came out. Hopefully I’ll be able to read it soon.

She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. For review. I love Erin McCarthy’s Fast-Track series and when I saw she had a New Adult novel coming out, I knew I had to read it.
Freefall (Aftershock #2) by Jill Sorenson
HE'S HER ONLY HOPE...Park ranger Hope Banning's plans for a little R & R are put on hold when a plane crashes at the top of a remote mountain. Hope will have to climb the summit and assess the situation. And the only climbing partner available is Sam Rutherford- the enigmatic man she spent a night with six months ago.
FOR STAYING ALIVE...
Ever since Sam lost his girlfriend in a falling accident, he insists on climbing solo. But Hope and any potential survivors need his help. As Sam and Hope set out on an emergency search-and-rescue mission, he realizes the sparks still sizzle between them. And when they learn a killer is among the survivors, they must place their trust in each other for a chance at happiness.
For review. Aftershock (my review), the first book in this series, was so good. I can’t wait to see what Jill Sorenson brings in Freefall. There was a sneak-peak of Freefall at the end of Aftershock and I just about went into shock when I reached the end.
Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) by Katie McGarry
If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.
But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....
Pushing the Limits (my review), the first book in this series, was one of my top picks for 2012. There was a sneak-peak of Dare You To at the end and Oh.Em.Gee. I cannot wait to read this one.

Great books! I just recently read Wait For You and really enjoyed it, which surprised me since I'm not much of a NA fan.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy!
I've been shying away from YA and been checking out more NA. Now I really want to read Wait for You sooner rather than later :)
