Rock star Ricky Bradshaw is simply going through the motions. Though surrounded by people—many of whom are good friends—he feels alone, empty. Then he finds a naked fan in his bed, and figures…why not? He’ll show the gorgeous woman exactly how he earned his sex-symbol status while losing himself for a few hours in soft curves, hot flesh and sweaty sex.Chelsea Wainwright has never wanted for anything. Her life has been easy—until now. After one devastating diagnosis, she’s living on borrowed time and making every second count. With only weeks left, Chelsea’s crossed every item off her to-do list save for one—a single night of wild, raw, uninhibited sex with the most famous drummer of the twenty-first century.
What’s the old expression? Saving the best for last? Oh yeah. That.
A Romantica® contemporary erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave.
I'm a sucker for celebrity/commoner romances so when I read the blurb for Count Me In, I had to read it. I was a bit wary of a dying heroine but the author did an outstanding job with this somber situation. The author provided some 'need to know' facts regarding Chelsea's situation yet I wasn't bombarded with depressing details. It was just enough information to allow me to firmly grasp the seriousness of her diagnosis and to understand why she was going after this particular wish.
For being quite a short story, I got to know the two lead characters quite well. There was just enough background given for me to get acquainted with these characters. I got exactly what I expected, and wanted, from Count Me In: a delicately written erotic affair between a woman who goes after what she wants and a bad boy drummer, without any of the sorrow that usually coincides with a devastating diagnosis.
Memorable Moment:
"Give me one night. I want nothing more. Nothing less."
