In My Pocket is a weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In J9's Pocket:
- Abigail Roux promised she'd release a Nick & Kelly story if Stars & Stripes won DABWAHA. She fulfilled her promise in a HUGE way!
- Riptide Publishing is celebrating Stars & Stripes winning the DABWAHA tournament by having a backlist sale of 30-50% off until April 15. Oh my book budget!
- As a feminist romance reader I'm always looking for suggestions and this was a great list by feminist romance authors and critics.
- More authors are sharing unique content in their newsletter for subscribers. Nalini Singh's latest newsletter had a short story of Faith and Vaughn from the Psy-Changeling Series. If you love this series like me you should sign up for Singh's newsletter on her website.
- Brianna saw this yummy veg recipe for kale and emailed it to me.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- I often wonder how authors get into the writing biz. Here’s an awesome story about how a bump on the head turned a mother of two into a bestselling author.
- I love a good laugh and this article on 11 unintentionally sexual food names made me chuckle. The Mini Dickmann’s are a definite winner. And Paula Deen’s ‘Butt Massage’ … just what the heck is she selling??
- This has got to be the most terrifying way to put on a condom. Men who’ve watched this video probably watched as their balls shriveled up. No actual peens in the video but there is a BOB so consider this NSFW.
- THIS is how you ask a chick to prom. How can you say ‘no’ to that prom proposal?
- “You’re killing me Smalls!” is one of my favorite movie quotes of all times. Know what movie it’s from? 5 brownie points for you if you said The Sandlot. And now I bet you’re wondering where are those kids now? Well, wonder no more. And the kid that played Benny “the Jet” Rodriguez actually went on to play pro ball with the Dodgers and is now a firefighter. SWOON.
- I come across some of the most interesting and unusual stuff when surfing through Flipboard, like how male strippers achieve and maintain their stage boners. Because this is stuff we need to know, right? NSFW. (I’m just posting all kinds of durrrrrty links today, aren’t I?)
- Back to book/reading stuff. Open Road Media is introducing Retro Romance, a reader program specializing in digitally reissued romance novels and they’re looking for romance readers.
- And I leave you with 12 ‘No Nose’ GIFs that will delight and horrify you. You can thank me later.
Oh my gawd! Thank you for that prom video! I loved it. Especially the guy at the end. :)
ReplyDeleteI was convinced that the kid who played "Ham" was in Pitch Perfect but it was not.
How can you say no to a guy who booty-grinds you? LOL
