I am an unabashed Cut & Run rabid fan and have been on a bender reading everything written by one of the co-authors, Madeleine Urban. For these short reads Urban partnered with Rhianne Aile. This is my second set of reviews for their short reads. (You can read my Mini-Reviews: Four Short M/M Stories by Madeleine Urban & Rhianne Aile Part II post here.)
Snowed In was by far my favorite of the novellas. Three best friends are snowed in at their cabin retreat. Sparks fly when Kasey reveals he’s writing erotic romance but one that features some male-on-male parts. Bisexual Martin decides to show Kasey how his “research” is wrong and straight Warren can’t believe how much this turns him on. Whew, this is a steamy read! Yes, this is a contrived set up but it’s executed perfectly. Warren’s reluctance, Kasey’s curiosity and Martin’s seduction of them both is delicious. I like that the men are honesty and I can see their friendship as well, all important for me. The ending offers just enough emotional closure for me not to feel dirty with all the sex. Recommend for readers who like spicy MMM erotic romance.

Dark Chocolate is an okay erotic story but has a smoking hero—boo! Restaurant owner and chef Sullivan has an orderly world until theatre star Quinn walks into his restaurant. Quinn knows what he wants and it’s to dip sexy Sullivan in chocolate and lick him clean. This book is all erotica, which is fine but what ruined it was the smoking at novella’s beginning. I hate smoking in real life and books and Quinn lights up as part of his seduction of Sullivan. This pulled me out of the first erotic interlude and I just couldn’t get back into the eroticism. Readers be advised the sex games include lots of food in places it’s not meant to be!

Be My Valentine is a lovely story of mutual attraction between an executive and his assistant. Kevin helps his son make a valentine for a girl at school and day dreamingly makes one for his boss, Sebastian. Sebastian ends up with the valentine and finally knows Kevin shares his attraction. This is a fun, light but still erotic and emotional short story. The authors create likable characters and their mutual attraction in very few pages. I love the ending too!

Hospitality has a great setting of Denmark and the romance while mostly erotic, is decent. Tommy just put his son on a flight home to America after his visit and he’s accept Camden’s offer of a drink. Tommy and Camden agree to meet that night and see where their attraction goes. This is either a short novella or long short story and the word count allows the setting of Denmark to be a part of Tommy and Camden’s erotic romance. I liked this setting a lot as and think other readers will too. The relationship is primarily sexual, especially as Tommy seduces Camden into doing things he hadn’t wanted to do before. This isn’t a unique relationship but it was decent.
