In My Pocket is a new weekly feature where J9 and I share some of the links we’ve collected in Pocket. (To find out what Pocket is and how to use it, check out my tutorial on Pocket.) Some links will be book-related while some may be off-topic. Who knows what you’ll find in our Pocket ;) And if you use Pocket, we invite you to share what’s in your Pocket as well.
In J9's Pocket:
- Bri's Pocket post last week clued me in that romance author Jessica Blair was actually 89-year old Bill Spence. This was a great article on Bill Spence writing in a "primarily feminine creative space."
- Who knew that erotic romance pioneer Ellora's Cave was headquartered near me in the middle of the conservative midwest!? This was a great article about Ellora's Cave's history and role in erotic romance publishing.
- I love Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series and she posted a short story featuring Hawke on her blog. Me-ow!
- I've been wondering if I should change my running cadence for a more difficult work out. I don't want to because I'm lazy and like my current cadence because I don't even think about it. This article gave me more to consider.
In Brianna's Pocket:
- I don’t know who this chick is but she does an amazing Gwen Stefani impersonation! (Starts at the 2:47 mark.)
- A meteorite exploded and landed in a lake in Russia and was caught on video. Wow. And apparently a lot of Russians have dash cameras in their vehicles.
- I don’t ‘check in’ on sites like foursquare or Facebook but for those who do, this is a very eye-opening article. Be sure to watch the video. Found this via Dear Author. I enjoy reading their daily news posts.
- Here’s another link I found via Dear Author: 32 of the greatest things that have ever happened on Tumblr. Pee first, then read the list. Trust me. My favorites: #6, #7, #19, #20, #21, #23, #24, #26, #29, and #30.
- Movie rights for the P2P Twilight fan fiction Beautiful Bastard have been acquired. I DNF the book. Too much panty-ripping sex, not enough plot for me.
- The books in the Harry Potter series are getting new covers. It feels so wrong but I like the new cover for the Sorcerer’s Stone.
- There was a discussion going on over on Twitter the other day about serial romances. Did you know Ilona Andrews has one? It’s free to read.
OMFG! Finally someone else who loathed Beautiful Bastard!!!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but snark in my review of it on the blog.
I couldn't even finish BB. I won't be reviewing it here but I noted my thoughts on GR.
DeleteLove these in my pockets-really enjoyed the exercise article this week as my fitness is something I've been spending more time thinking about lately.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was interesting article though I haven't attempted to change my running cadence! What are you doing for exercise, if I may ask?
