A Little Love from Inez

~That secret note tucked in his lunch

~A look that lingers a second longer than normal

~A wink from across a crowded room

~One raised eyebrow that flirts in silence

~The barest brush of his fingers across the small of your back

Sometimes it isn’t the big gestures that speak the loudest. The modest things, the private moments that are so easy to miss unless you cherish them, those speak volumes. Love doesn’t only exist in the MONUMENTAL, it thrives in the minutia.

When you put more sugar than cinnamon on your lover’s toast because it makes him happy.

When he opens your door or holds your jacket.

When a song comes on the radio and you both smile in memory.

When a silly phrase means nothing to anyone except the two of you.

In the little bits -that is where love lives. Here is an example from my newest release from Carina Press, Time Dancer:

Jana pulled the soft white cloth from behind her and held it out to Darach. He took it, his fingers grazing hers. Their eyes met. They’d not spoken of the gentle press of his lips to her hand but a private smile inched along his mouth as he knelt before the king…

To show my love for my readers, and those who may one day become my readers, I’m giving a little bit back. Tell me a ‘little bit’ about your love and one commenter will win a LITTLE BIT OF INEZ LOVE bag. The bag includes items that have a little bit of meaning from my various books:

-A Betty Boop ball cap (Turn it Up)

-4 Lip Butters: (Sweet as Sin) Buttercream and Chocolate Orgasm, (Turn it Up) Marshmallow and Mango Peach

-Naughty Girl roll-on perfume (Lipstick on his Collar)

-Naked Lady natural soap (Coming Clean)

-Butter cream Tea light (Sweet as Sin)

-Sugar Cookie Whipped Body Cream (Sweet as Sin)

To sweeten the deal, I’ll add some candy and three digital downloads from my anything on backlist. Happy Valentine’s Day from Inez! Happy Reading!

Published: February 11, 2013

Everyone has a duty in the royal castle—everyone except Jana Haruk. Despite her promising magical bloodline, her gift is weak. As a Reminiscent Seer, she knows only what happened in the past, not what will happen in the future. When the crown prince's life is threatened, Jana vows to do everything she can to help him—including asking the queen, a powerful sorceress, to lend her some magic.

The queen summons Darach, a spell in human form. The arrogant and mysterious man soon discovers there's more to Jana than meets the eye: she's a time dancer, someone with the ability to move backward through time in her dreams. With Darach as her anchor, Jana can explore the past and try to figure out who is behind the attacks on the prince.

Despite her attraction to him, Jana knows little about the handsome warrior. The past is tying them closer to each other with every trip, but Darach is bound to return to his homeland when his mission is complete…and their time together is running out.

  1. My husband isn't that romantic either. But he does do the little things and I am okay with it.

  2. I meet my husband on a blind date 7 years ago. Never in my wildest dreams I would have imagined meeting my soulmate that way.

My husband is not super romantic but he makes me feel like a Queen with all his daily gestures of love. I can't ask for a better husband. He's my ROCK!!!

  4. My husband gave me the blank look this morning, "you mean today is Valentine's Day?" "Yes, same day every year :)" Oh well, he brought me coffee and took the dogs out for me. Works for me! At least I didn't have to trudge through the snow and ice early this morning...

  5. Thanks for the fun post and giveaway! My BF and I have been together for 4 years and it feels like no time at all. He's such a sweet guy and he compliments me so well :) I think I"ll keep him!

  8. My husband and I met at high school, but not the usual way. We were both dating someone that went to that school and we dropped by during lunch to see them. They were often late so we ended up talking and it went from there!

  10. So true about the little things are so much more special! When hubby & I were dating, he used to call me everyday(pre-cellphone days) at work, while he was on a break, just to say "Hello"! The girls in the office used to tease me but I think they were just jealous :) Then when we started living together we used to leave post-it notes on the bathroom mirror for each other (we worked different shifts) We still leave post-it notes for each other on the mirror sometimes I will find one on my steering wheel or in my Kindle. It makes me love him even more after 23 yrs together!

  11. Weeeee! Look at all the responses! I love it.

My husband's big thing is filling my car's gas tank. Since we've been married, I think I've pumped my own gas twice. We met and 11 days later got engaged. Were married within 6 months. That was almost 17 yrs ago. I know a good thing when I see it.

  12. That is so sweet of you Inez. My husband does sweet things all the time. I'm in grad school and working full time. He gives me back rubs at least once a week, has dinner ready for me when I get home from working 12 shifts at the hospital, and takes care of anything I ask of him. He is my high school sweetheart and love of my life!

  13. I totally agree with you in that it's the little things that count. I love the way my mum shows her love; she'll do all sorts of things for dad (& us too) without saying a word & you know it's because she loves us.

I just bought "Myla by Moonligh" as a Valentine's gift to myself & I can't wait to read it.

  14. My hubby's best friend called him up and say, "Hey, there are these two girls I like. Come up and pick one to ask out and I'll ask the other." Over 21 years later we are still together! Many thanks to the hubby's friend for letting him choose :D

  15. Well I meet my husband on a blind date and two months later we married. We have been married almost fifteen years and have four kids. Never knew a blind date would send me to the man of my dreams and to the family that I always wanted.

  16. My love is not the romantic time. But instead about my family members. Years ago, I was on bed rest due to blood clots in my legs. After about a week, I was going crazy. So on Valentine's Day, my sister came over & brought my nieces & nephew and we spent the day on the pull out sofa (where I was spending time b/c it was closer to the bathroom than my bedroom). We watched movies, ate popcorn, and just goofed off all day. During this time, my family also went to the library to make sure I had lots of new books to read and even learned to give me shots so that I would not have to be admitted to the hospital.

  17. Being with him has allowed me to retire early. He grocery shops and cooks for me. But the biggest thing is he makes me laugh - every day.

  18. My love is my family. I got divorced nearly 8 years ago but my family is very close and supportive of one another. We celebrate all the holidays together and everybody's birthdays. I love reading all of the other comments. Thanks for the giveaway!
