In a Nutshell: Lovely short story of my favorite couple from this series.

The Set Up: Matt worries his lover of three years, Jared, feels unappreciated so Matt decides to do something special for Valentine’s Day but nothing goes right for Matt.

Why I Read this Book: Coda Books series fan here!

What I Liked: This is a humorous and tender short story. Matt and Jared are my favorite couple in the series so I was delighted to have a peak-in at their relationship. Matt’s attempts at a special Valentine’s Day are funny and how Jared reacts showcases exactly why these two belong together. I also like that this story explores the men’s emotional connection with a tad bit of sex to balance it all out.

What I Didn’t Like: Short stories are short by definition so I won’t waste time complaining it’s too short. I will say it’s like that tiny slice of cheesecake that you can’t help wish was twenty times larger.

IMO: Not to be missed for series fans like me.
