Winner-Winner-Chicken-Dinner, I’m an Avon Addict!
Avon publishing has selected 25 Avon Addicts for the next six months from thousands of applicants and yours truly is one of the lucky chosen! This means I receive monthly care packages of free Avon books to read, review and give away to you, The Book Vixen faithful readers! I also receive e-galleys, swag and exclusive interview access to Avon authors like Stephanie Laurens and Eloisa James. Talk about winning the jackpot!
For those of you who see all my MM reviews here on TBV you may find me a strange pick for Avon Addicts since they publish traditional historical romance. However, years ago Avon historical romance was my gateway to the romance genre. I fell in love with the pageantry of historical romance and return to Avon books when I want comfort reads with strong romance leads and classic storytelling. In fact, three of my all-time favorite books are Avon historical romances, Sarah MacLean’s Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake, and Lisa Kleypas’s Devil in Winter and Dreaming of You. I reread these books at least once a year.
So now that you know I’m serious about my Avon historical romances, this is a picture of my first Avon Addict care package. I was giddy to see the new Sarah MacLean book, One Good Earl Deserves a Lover in the package because I *adore* her books and loved book one in the Rules of Scoundrels series. She writes nuanced heroes and heroines who don’t have cookie cutter romances. This book doesn’t release until January 2013 so I’m going to savor it slowly and will post the review here when I finish.
But I want to share the Avon Addict jackpot with you all! I have two copies of Caroline Linden’s book The Way to a Duke’s Heart to giveaway. Though book three in a series, this is easily read as a standalone as the author recaps the other stories succinctly. Charles and Tessa are great leads who will capture your attention as they spar their way to love. The secondary characters are strong but don’t steal the show and the plot involving a blackmailer interesting without overwhelming the romance. See for yourself why I’m an Avon Addict and read this sexy and tender regency romance!
Thanks to J9, TWO lucky winners will each receive a print copy of The Way to a Duke’s Heart by Caroline Linden. Good luck to all who enter!
