Bloggiesta: The Starting Line

Bloggiesta Starting Line

This round of Bloggiesta runs from September 28th – 30th.
Bloggiesta was originally created by Maw Books
and is now hosted by It’s All About Books & There’s a Book.

Bloggiesta is a 3-day blog-a-thon where you try to complete as many things on your blog to-do list as you can. I’ve had an ongoing to-do list ever since the last Bloggiesta ended. Here is everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, on my list:

  1. Catch up on writing reviews (10).
  2. Format upcoming reviews (5).
  3. Format and schedule all promo posts that I have received material for.
  4. Post reviews and update NetGalley.
  5. Change RSS feed footer.
  6. Back up blog and update import to WP.
  7. Update WLW templates on laptop.
  8. Check for and fix dead links.
  9. Catch up on cross posting reviews on Goodreads, LibraryThing, and Pinterest.
  10. Update review index pages (Reviews by Title and Reviews by Author).
  11. Update all of my 2012 reading challenge posts (Outdo Yourself, Men in Uniform, TBR, ebook, 100+) to include all books read to date and to go up a level if need be.
  12. Write up 2013 Reading Challenge sign-up posts and review link up posts: Outdo Yourself, Men in Uniform, Nicholas Sparks (it’s coming back!), and Romantic Suspense (new one!).
  13. Create Facebook URL name for TBV page.
  14. Format all ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN Series Read-a-Long discussion posts to be held here on TBV (11/30, 1/31, 3/30).
  15. Format and schedule all ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN Series Read-a-Long discussion posts to be held at Smash Attack Reads (10/30, 12/28, 2/28, 4/30).
  16. Create a Welcome box in the sidebar.
  17. Figure out a tagline for the blog. I have the main idea; I need to make it sound snazzy.
  18. Go thru all blog Pages and update if need be.
  19. Update About page.
  20. Update old review posts to current format.
  21. Replace all old banners (Month in Review, About the Author, About the Book, Excerpt, Giveaway, Buy on Amazon, Add to Goodreads) with new banners.
  22. Go thru all old blog posts and reformat as needed.
  23. Figure out what the heck is going on with Feedburner and find a replacement if necessary.
  24. Figure out how to use Stumble Upon to promote TBV.
  25. Pick winner for Thea Harrison giveaway and email/announce.
  26. Write up Month in Review post for September.
  27. Update Kindle Books to Lend list.

Bet you weren’t expecting a list that long! I don’t expect to get everything done but I am hoping to at least make a dent.

If you’re looking for a Bloggiesta mini-challenge,  be sure to check out the new list of Bloggiesta mini-challenges, the list of mini-challenges from the last Bloggiesta, and the list of prior Bloggiesta mini-challenges.

I’ve got one on How to Use Pocket to Save Time. I also have one on Backing Up Your Blog, which I hosted during the last Bloggiesta. And I also did a very detailed tutorial a while back on how to make a progress bar to track your reading challenges, if that interests you.

Happy Bloggiesta!

  5. Good luck! That's a mighty long to-do list, but you strike me as a very efficient blogger, so I would not be surprised if you got most of that done! I am so impressed that you're already thinking about the sign up posts for 2013 reading challenges!!

  7. Wow, your list makes mine look lazy by comparison! Bloggiesta needs to last a month... or a year for all I want to do! ;) Good luck!

  8. Wow! That is some list! I tried to keep my list small as I know I always add to it after visiting other blogs, and it's growing already. I'm curious to see what a Welcome box is. Hope you have a productive weekend!

    1. I'm always adding stuff to my to-do list after seeing other people's lists.

A Welcome box is a text box in the sidebar that welcomes people to your blog. Brief intro. Hopefully I'll get to that item and you'll be able to see it :)

  11. Wowzer, lady, what a list! :) How'd you do? I am reminded after this weekend of how much my little blog is a work in progress. I'll be tweaking long after the weekend is over. But fun! And fills my social need :)
