J9 is currently in Southport, North Carolina on a TBV Assignment. She will be visiting the Safe Haven movie set and will be interviewing Nicholas Sparks, the author of Safe Haven.
Safe Haven stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough and will be in theaters February 14, 2013. The Safe Haven movie is based the novel, with the same title, written by #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks.
J9 (@j9moope) will be live-tweeting during her visit with the #SafeHavenTrip hashtag, which I’ll (@thebookvixen) be retweeting as well. For more behind-the-scenes information and pictures from the movie set, be sure to check out the Safe Haven Facebook page and the Safe Haven Instagram (@safehavenmovie).
Also, Safe Haven author Nicholas Sparks is hosting a special Safe Haven Movie Twitter Party/Q&A TONIGHT, August 7th, from 9-10pm (ET). Tweet your questions for Nicholas using the #SafeHavenChat hashtag, and register here to enter to win autographed copies of the novel, gift cards, book sets, and more.
If you have a question you’d like J9 to ask during the interview with Nicholas Sparks tomorrow, leave it in the comments of this post. It’s a round table interview and there will be other bloggers there as well, so I’m not sure how many questions J9 will be able to ask. If you leave your question before the Safe Haven Movie Twitter Party starts tonight, I’ll try to get your question answered there.
Love hurts. There is nothing as painful as heartbreak. But in order to learn to love again, you must learn to trust again. When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.
But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo’s empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven.

DeleteHave arrived in rainy, muggy Southport, North Carolina, population now 2,352 with my arrival. Yep, you guessed it, my assignment is in the country with a capital "C". This should prove fun for my city self. And before you ask, no Whole Foods and no Starbucks! I may or may not be using pirated WiFi from a doctor's office. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you have safely arrived! Can't wait for your updates :)
DeleteFor our readers - we'll be doing a series of posts on J9's trip leading up to the release of the movie. So stay tuned :)

Hey BV I'm ALIVE!!!
Nice to see you Natalie!! I haven't read Safe Haven yet myself but soon, very soon.
DeleteI'm not going to lie, I am not a Julianne Hough fan at all. Safe Haven is my favorite Nicholas Sparks book, so I'm going to be a very harsh critic, I hope she does the character justice. I do love Josh Duhamel though :)
