Month in Review: June 2012

The Book Vixen's Month in Review

Wow, what a month June has been! It was my birthday – Woot Woot! I have an Amzn gift card to spend so if you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments. Right now I’m in the mood for contemporary romance and romantic suspense. I just read my very first Nora Roberts book (Angels Fall) so I’d love some recommendations for her books as well.

I attended ALA Annual last weekend, which was the first bookish convention I’ve ever been to. I saw HD from Reading Writing Breathing a couple times. I met Christin from Portrait of a Book while in line for an author signing. And I meet up with Kai from Fiction State of Mind and Lisa from A Life Bound by Books. It was nice to meet fellow book bloggers and to put some faces to a few names. Big thanks to Kai and Lisa, whom both were a BIG help in navigating the floor. And here are the books I got:

I’m taking a twittercation for the month of July. Twitter is the BIGGEST time sucker for me and it really cuts down my reading time. I will be replying to @replies and DMs as well as scheduling tweets (for promos and the like) but I won’t be reading my timeline. I’ll probably tweet some Kindle deals and freebies once in a while as well. I will miss my twitter tweeps but I’ll be back in August.

  1. Summer Days by Susan Mallery
  2. Angels Fall by Nora Roberts

  1. WHAT!? You got Scarlet?? I didn't even know they were giving away copies at ALA! I wasn't there anyway, but still. I'm insanely jealous! I'm also jealous of Crewel and Eve & Adam. Those sound amazing and I can't wait to read them. :)

As for book suggestions for your Amazon gift card.. well I just spent an entire $75 Amazon gift card in one sitting.. I mostly caught up on older books that I haven't read yet, but here's what I got:

♥ Chosen Ones by Tiffany Tuitt
♥ Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
♥ Across the Universe by Beth Revis
    ♥ Matched by Ally Condie
    ♥ Wither by Lauren DeStefano
    ♥ Ashfall by Mike Mullin
♥ Take a Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg
    ♥ Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Maybe you'll find one or two in there that you haven't read that you'd like to get! :) Enjoy spending!

    1. Marissa Meyer was there for a signing. I also bought Cinder (which I forgot to include in the picture above) but bought it after the signing because I didn't know that publisher booth accepted credit cards. But I now have Cinder, which I cannot wait to read it.

And I cannot wait to read Crewel and Eve and Adam as well. Oh, who am I kidding - I can't wait to read them all!

Oh yes! I've been wanting to get Shatter Me. *writes it down* I loved both Matched and Delirium. Hope you enjoy all your new books!

  3. Nora Roberts has some GREAT stuff.

Most of her Trilogies are FANTASTIC.

The Key Trilogy is good. The "Once Upon A..." trilogy is good too. Just trilogies in general. Go with the trilogies!
