For my birthday in June, Sophia gave me a gift certificate to DecalGirl. It was the perfect gift because I had been thinking about getting a skin for my Kindle for some time; I just hadn’t been able to decide on a design. So gift certificate in hand, I finally made a decision and got a skin. I went with the Cherry Blossoms skin in the Matte finish.

It was fairly easy to put on. I only got one crease in it that I can’t get out. I am no pro at installing skins (seriously, just thinking about the task freaks me out because I’m such a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this). I didn’t get the back side of the skin to line up perfectly so the ‘Next Page’ button on the left side of my Kindle doesn’t go down all the way. No big deal. All in all, I love this skin. The design is not too busy that it distracts from my reading, which is also the reason I went with the Matte finish. I love looking at my Kindle now! Thanks Sophia!
As a birthday gift to myself, I got a case/sleeve for my Kindle. The whole entire time that I had been using my Kindle (about a year), I had been using a size 0 bubble mailer. No joke. So I decided it was time to get a real case for my Kindle. I went on Etsy and started browsing the cases. I loved this style case but none of the fabric designs really caught my eye. I liked that (1) the case was padded and (2) that you just slip your Kindle right inside. I asked the case maker if I could go with another fabric design and she said yes. She helped me get the fabric pattern I wanted (from another Etsy merchant) and got the fabric shipped straight to her. And it was just a buck more to get the fabric design I wanted! And let me tell you – I LOVE IT! My kindle fits perfectly inside. I love looking at my case and it’s so much better than the bubble mailer I was using.

And this may be such a minute detail but I love how she stitched around the owls as to not interfere with the design. It’s attention to detail like that that makes me a happy camper.
