Top Ten Books I Feel as Though Everyone Has Read But Me

  1. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
  2. Lover Mine by J.R. Ward
  3. The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
  4. Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep
  5. Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore
  6. Lord of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter
  7. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
  8. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
  9. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
  10. A Jane Austen book

I went with books that I own, that are sitting on my shelf (or Kindle) this very second. There are many more books that I feel everyone else has read, except me, that I have on my wishlist.

  2. @Christi Snow

At least I'm not the only one who has yet to read the HG series :)

  3. I haven't read The Hunger Games or Outlander, and I own both of those, too!I don't own them, but I haven't read The Vampire Academy series or any of Kristin Cashore's books either.

I have read a few Austen though. My favorite was Northanger Abbey. :)

  4. I haven't read Jane Austen either. Don't plan on it. I put Elemental Assassins on my list tooooo! I might be starting them soon.

I've read most of these books, and I suggest ALL of them. Seriously.

  6. I've read The Hunger Games books, and I'm about halfway through Vampire Academy (both are excellent reads!) But the rest of your list? I haven't read either...

  7. You are not alone! I haven't read the Vampire Academy series, Mortal Instruments, Outlander or Jane Austen. (I know for sure that last one is not my cup of tea.)

And like Christi, I have never even heard of Speak or Graceling and Fire.

As for the others, The Hunger Games is worth reading (though I wish I had stopped at the first one and skipped the rest of the trilogy.)

Lover Mine got mixed reaction, but I loved it!

Elemental Assassin and LotU are both excellent series and I would recommend them both.

You'll get to them when you get to them. There are so many great books out there, no one can read them all.

  9. I am a DIEHARD Hunger Games, Graceling and Jane Austen fan (who would have thought those would all go in the same sentence). I really hope you get around to reading them! Katniss and Katsa are my favorite heroines OF ALL TIME.

  10. I've only read 1, 9, and 10. Like you, I own most of them.

  11. I have read Hunger Games and Speak, they were ok but not worth the hype in my opinion. Maybe Speak specific to the young teens.

  12. 4 books/series on that list I have not started :=) Good list. I do know how it feels with some books. I so feel that about Showalter

  14. Just to make you feel better...I've only read one on that list. And just to make me feel better, I'm not saying which one!

  16. I need to read Fire still (and plenty of others on your list), but I loved Graceling and have had Fire on my shelf for far too long.

  17. @Smash Attack!

I have quite a few Jane Austen books on my Kindle but I don't know if I'll ever get around to reading them. Unfortunately they're not on the top (or middle section) of my TBR pile.

  18. @Jen at Red Hot Books

I've heard mixed feelings about Mockingjay. The way you felt about the HG series is how I felt about the Shiver/Linger/Forever trilogy - should've stopped after the first book.

  21. I'm almost there with you. I've never read Jennifer Estep, Kristin Cashore, Diana Gabaldon, Laurie Halse Anderson or Jane Austen. I love JR Ward and Richelle Mead, so those I read as soon as they come out!

    Great post, btw!
