While the awards are a fun part of BBAW, they can never accurately represent the depth and breadth of diversity in the book blogging community. Today you are encouraged to highlight a couple of bloggers that have made book blogging a unique experience for you. They can be your mentors, a blogger that encouraged you to try a different kind of book, opened your eyes to a new issue, made you laugh when you needed it, or left the first comment you ever got on your blog. Stay positive and give back to the people who make the community work for you!
Sophia of Fiction Vixen – We ‘met’ in an online group when we were both pregnant about 7 years ago. We started book blogging at the same time and it’s been a fun ride. She’s my go-to person for all kinds of advice – anything from kid stuff to books and/or blogging. I call her the ‘word master’. Whenever I’m having difficulty figuring out what word to use or how to phrase something, I go to her. And I love filling up her email inbox with funnies.
MinnChica of The Book Pushers – We started chatting on Twitter and she quickly became my personal book pimp. We have very similar reading tastes so I look to her for recommendations. I’ve been known to hit her up on Twitter when I’m at a book store for those hard to decide book buying decisions. I also look forward to her reviews for even more books to add to my never-ending TBR pile.
Kelli and Natalie of I’d So Rather Be Reading – These two ladies are awesome. I can’t remember exactly how we met, if they found me or if I found them, but I’m glad we found each other. I enjoy reading their reviews and I’ve come across some great books from their site. I’ve gotten to know these ladies pretty well and I enjoy our non-book-related chats as well.
And I couldn't end this post without mentioning the seven awesome ladies helping me out with Admin duties on A Novel Challenge. Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to save the site. So thank you Alisha of Black Nailed Reviews, Carrie of West Virginia Red Reads, Jennifer C. of An Abundance of Books, Jennifer S. of Reading with Tequila, Kris of Not Enough Books, Melissa of Must Read Faster and Sherri of Urban Girl Reader. I appreciate all you do for the site!
Glad to be working on A Novel Challenge. It is exciting to see it change and grow.
ReplyDeleteI am loving BBAW already, thanks to this post I have found several new blogs to follow :)
ReplyDeleteI am still so new to the book blogging community that I haven't formed many relationships yet, but I love how close this community seems.
Wow, only 18 days left of your pregnancy--I hope they go well.
ReplyDeleteBook bloggers seem to have such a warm, accepting community. That's wonderful to celebrate each other!
Goodness, I don't know any of the bloggers you listed -- I'll have to remedy that! Have a wonderful BBAW!
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHH Thanks so much for the shout out BV! I love being known as the "book pimp" LOL! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteWow, we've been friends through 5 combined pregnancies. LMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention. I've been lurking around your site for a while, so it has been great getting involved with activities with other bloggers. It has been a fun and rewarding experience. Looking forward to what's next and where we can go!
