May was a month of ‘firsts’ for me. I finally read my first (and second) Susan Mallery book! One was a hit (Chasing Perfect). I can definitely see why readers love her work. The other was a bit of a miss (Almost Perfect) but I still plan to read more from her. I read my first J.D. Robb book. Finally. It wasn’t as great as I thought it would be but I still enjoyed it. I’m not on the Roarke bandwagon yet. My review will be coming up soon. And I read my first hardcore erotica romance. I just handed over my v-card left and right this past month!
Speaking of firsts, I also tried listening to my very first audio book. Tried, and failed. I’m not an audio book kind of gal and this makes me sad. This bummed me out for two reasons. (1) It would have been a great way to multi-task by reading and doing some household chores at the same time but unfortunately I do not have the attention span for it. I’m a visual person so I need to read the words myself in order to grasp everything. (2) My library has an awesome selection of audio books that I’ll never listen to. And some of the books I want to read are only available in audio format. Buzzkill.
Baby news! I had my ultrasound earlier this month and we found out I’m having a GIRL! Well, we’re 95% sure we’re having a girl. I’m getting 2 more ultrasounds (one in July and another in August) so hopefully they’ll be able to ‘double-check’. But I feel comfortable enough to buy pink stuff.
This season of Grey’s Anatomy and Body of Proof are both over and done with. I iz a sad vixen. What am I going to watch now? (Besides 16 and Pregnant…)

Congrats on having a girl (you think)! One of my best friends was supposed to find out the sex of her baby weeks ago, but every time she goes, his legs are crossed. She *might* find out today though :] Lucky you found out! It so much easier to buy things.
ReplyDeleteI have never read J. D. Robb, and I see the books all the time at my local bookstore.
Looks like you had a really good month!
S. Leighanne - Thank you! My first kid did that, crossed her legs. She was a delivery surprise. It is a lot easier to buy things and prepare for the baby when you know the gender. I don't want to have to do greens and yellows. LOL
ReplyDeleteYaaaay for the girl team. My little one is 4 now but I amsolutely love having a girl.
ReplyDeleteWell done for your first :-)
I get sad when Grey's ends also and we have to wait months for the continuation.
Lordy be lady!!!! You were a busy chick!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the girl news:) I haven't tried audio books for that same reason. I need to hold something with me.
ReplyDeleteNice that it was month of firsts. :)
The Roarke bandwagon will welcome you with open arms in a book or two...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the baby news and here's to your first prediction being the correct one. I always tell people who aren't positive that my oldest daughter's name is Anthony...they were convinced he was a girl until he was born, poor guy
Julie - I'm glad I did finally try an audio book. Too bad it's doesn't work for me :(
ReplyDeleteKiwi - The Roarke bandwagon better come to me soon! I'm only giving the series another book, maybe two.
ReplyDeleteI can only listen to audio books in the car and even then I sometimes zone out. Congratulations on your daughter! That's sooooo amazing!
