GUEST POST & GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]: Author Marie Force

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
by Marie Force

I was asked today to discuss my favorite things about being a romance author. I have quite a few things on my list so I narrowed it down to my top three.

1. Happily Ever After. One of the things I love best about reading romance is knowing that no matter what the author might put her characters and readers through in the course of the story, I am guaranteed either an HEA (happily ever after) or an HFN (happy for now). Life is so full of bad news and scary situations. Romance readers come to us looking for an escape from reality. That the hero and heroine will receive a satisfactory end to their story is a promise romance writers make to our readers, and it’s one I’m happy to keep in all my books.

2. Is there anything better than falling in love? That moment when eye meets eye, when breath gets caught in the throat, when the heart beats a little faster. As a romance writer, I get to experience that moment in each of my books, and it never gets old.

3. Romance readers. Romance writers are blessed to have some of the most dedicated, loyal and faithful readers who are free with their praise and thanks. They write beautiful notes about how much a book touched them. They go out of their way to pass the word about their favorite books to other readers and they stick with authors they love through the ups and downs of publishing. They put notes on their calendars to remind them of release date of books they want to read, and they’ve even been known to mount campaigns to ensure their favorite authors make it to bestseller lists. I couldn’t imagine writing for any other audience.

What are your favorite things about reading and/or writing romance?

Here’s a bit about my latest release, Everyone Loves a Hero:

Hero pilot Cole Langston is learning to live with—and enjoy—his newfound fame and the rabid female attention that comes with it until a lucky punch knocks some sense into him and opens his eyes to true love.

When his copilot suffers a heart attack in flight, Cole lands the jetliner in a blizzard and revives the stricken captain. Catapulted to national hero status, Cole has more women vying for his attention than he knows what to do with. They all have one thing in common: they try without success to bring this happy-go-lucky pilot down to earth. Then comes an airport altercation, a punch to the face, and the lovely Olivia—a shy, timid artist who does what no other woman has ever managed to do: steal Cole's well-protected heart. With women coming on to him everywhere they go, Olivia struggles to believe that Cole is ready for a committed relationship. His biggest problem is getting rid of all his extra ladies before the only one he wants figures out that she's one of many.

Thanks again for having me! Look forward to chatting today.

Fame has its perks…

I read romance for the characters and the HEAs; for the pure escapism and entertainment; for learning more about this world and for living vicariously in others. Your book looks great, Marie. Thanks for visiting.
