Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

My Goals for 2011 (if I call them ‘resolutions’ they won’t happen)

  1. Read 100 books this year.
  2. Not get behind on writing reviews.
  3. Read more Urban Fantasy. I got A LOT of great recommendations that I can’t wait to try out.
  4. Manage time spent online more effectively. I waste too much time online doing nothing. I roam the internets; it just sucks me right in. I may just have to set up an online schedule for myself (I’m that bad).
  5. Become a runner. To be able to run like there’s a pit bull chasing my ass and I’ve got beefy jerky in my back pocket. Run five days a week so I can run a 15 minute mile (or better) and lose the weight I’ve been packing for the past 6 years. Non book-related but one of my most important goals. Did I mention that I’ve never run a day in my life? Yeah, pretty audacious of me, I know.

YA books I’m anxious to read in 2011

  1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins – Everyone has been raving about this book!
  2. The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney – Sounds like a good poignant read.
  3. Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan – It seems that anything David Levithan writes is gold so I’m going to be all over this one.
  4. The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead – I’ve been wanting to read this series fo–ev–er but haven’t had a chance. I want to read it soon. If I have to clear a week in order to do so, I will.
  5. Where She Went by Gayle Forman – I have a feeling this will be better than If I Stay.
  6. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins – Another series I’ve wanting longing to read but haven’t gotten to yet. I’ll be reading all 3 books back to back.
  7. The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson – Another book I’ve heard great things about.
  8. Unwind by Neal Shusterman – I would not have known about this book if it weren’t for Kelli from I’d So Rather Be Reading. Her review put this one on my TBR list.

Adult books I’m anxious to read in 2011

  1. Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning – I pre-ordered this for my Kindle and I will probably being reading it at the stroke of midnight.
  2. Lover Mine by J.R. Ward – I’ve had this book on my shelf since April, when it released, and I still have yet to read it. I’m coming for you John Matthew! I promise!
  3. April & Oliver by Tess Callahan – Sounds like a great tension filled romance. I love tension!
  4. Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning – Common words that I’ve read/heard that people use to describe this book: sexy, dirty, and some other words I cannot type here. I’m curious.
  5. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro – J.A. Saare has been raving about this book non-stop. I wasn’t going to read it but she has convinced me to. What can I say, it’s all about the power of persuasion.
  6. Fast Track series by Erin McCarthy – Have you seen those book covers?!!
  7. The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook – Everyone, and I mean everyone, is raving about this book. I need to see for myself what all the fuss is about.
  8. Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch – I don’t do sci-fi. I don’t. But these covers caught my attention and people are twisting my arm to read it. I’m going to give this series a go.
  9. Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane – Based on what I’ve heard about this series (someone named Terrible, something about a tunnel and “Chessiebomb”), I want to just start at book 3. But I won’t. I’ll be a good little vixen and start with book 1.
  10. A Megan Hart book. I just don’t know where to start. Suggestions for a Hart newbie?

What books are you anxiously looking forward to reading in 2011? If you have a post up on the subject, feel free to link it in the comments.

I read The Vampire Academy series & The Hunger Games trilogy this last year & loved them both!

I also plan on reading Anna and the French Kiss & Unwind this year (I've had this one on my tbr forever!).

And good luck fleeing from that pit bull! That's a great goal!

Maybe we can team up on the running goal??? There are a lot of good websites out there with a training schedule for beginners....

I like all your goals for 2011 - definitely go running! I'm a runner and it's fantastic way to keep fit and keep slim. I love it (although I'm out of action with a knee injury).

I want to read The Hunger Games too as I've heard such good things about it - and YES, you MUST read the Downside Ghosts series, it's awesome!

Happy New Year, BV! :D

Happy New Year! There are some great books on your 2011 list! I'm also anxious to read The Hunger Games and will be doing so in 2011!

Hurrah on your goal to become a runner! I use to do quite a bit of that prior to an injury and found it to be very relaxing. Have you read, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Murakami? I just started listening to the audiobook- and it may inspire you. :-)

Your goal number 2 is also one of my goals for this year as well. It seems to take much time for me to write a review, so I definitely need to do something with that =)

Best wishes to you in 2011!

I'm a huge Megan Hart fan. I adore her erotic romance, so deep and emotional.

Excellent goals! My #1 goal this year is to break 100 books as well. And I need to work on writing my reviews in a more timely manner.

Funny how the internet sucks you in and suddenly it's time for bed and you've accomplished nothing. :)

Good luck with the running! Happy New Year!
