2011 Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge - FAILED

Jennifer from Reading with Tequila says:

Book bloggers are my favorite source of book recommendations. More than any other source, they consistently introduce me to books and authors that impact my life. Therefore, I have created the Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge.

The Rules:

  • Challenge will run January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011. Participants can join anytime throughout the challenge.
  • Create an intro post, linking back to this post.
  • Sign up here.
  • Chose your own books from the list. You can decide to read books only on the Top 25 list or from the entire recommendation list. You do not have to make a list of books before the challenge begins.
  • All forms of books acceptable (audio books, eBooks, etc.)
  • Rereads do not count towards the completion of the challenge. The challenge is about discovering books that are new to you.
  • You don't need a blog to participate.
  • Reviews, while always appreciated, are not mandatory.

The Levels:

Level I - Read 5 books from the 2010 Book Blogger Recommendation List
Level II - Read 10 books
Level III - Read 15 books
Level IV - Read 20 books
Level V - Read 20+ books

I’m going for Level III – Read 15 books.

Here is my list of books for this challenge (links go to my review):
  1. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
  2. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
  3. Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins
  4. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
  5. Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill

Bummer. I wanted to read so many more book recommendations!

  5. I hope you LOVE The Stand. It is my all time favorite book. I could not read another book for about 3 months. I think I was in mourning that it was over. I just signed up for the challenge too!

  6. This is a neat idea for a challenge! I've read some of those and they are great books (1, 3, 4, 11, 13, 14, 15)!!

  7. Oh, I might have to try this one. I did it last year, but only read half the books I'd planned on reading. Oh well. New year, new list, right?

  8. What a great list! My take on some:

The Hunger Games - YES! And make certain you get Catching Fire and Mockingjay, because you'll want to read them both right away!

The Stand - Stephen King - I love Stephen King, and this is one of his bestest! :)

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare - I bought this for my Not-So-Bebe Girl Autumn two years ago, and now we have the whole series (and, yes, I've read them, too, and they're very good!)

Outlander - Diana Gabaldon - LOVED this one! If you're on Goodreads, go to the reviews and check out the one by Holly - Even tho' she didn't like the book and I did, her review is hilarious!

Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson - I bought this for the Banned Books Challenge and my middle bebe girl promptly took it right away - I have to get it back from her, as I have it on my own challenge list!

Delirium - Lauren Oliver - haven't read it, but have the galley waiting, so I'll be reviewing it soon (forgot to put it on my list, though!)

The Giver - Lois Lowry - THE book that cemented all of my daughters' love of reading - we had lots of discussion about it - it's a great book; if re-reads counted, I would have this on my list, as I have it set for a re-read soon

    Good luck with the challenge!
