GUEST POST: Natalie from Mindful Musings

Mindful Musings

The Book Vixen is pleased to welcome Natalie from Mindful Musings to the blog today.

Most of us who are serious bookaholics have what I call an “automatic buying list” (or auto-buy, for short). For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, an auto-buy list is composed of a group of authors whose work you WILL BUY ASAP, no questions asked. They publish, you purchase. Get the idea?

Here’s a list (in no particular order) of the authors on my auto-buy list, along with each of their books that put them on the list.

______________________________

Maggie Stiefvater (Shiver)
Alexandra Bracken (Brightly Woven)
Cassandra Clare (City of Bones)
Cindy Pon (Silver Phoenix)
Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games)
Julie Kagawa (The Iron King)

Considering that I read close to 100 books each year, my auto-buy list is pretty short. An author has to be pretty darn good to make it on there! Usually, I’ve given at least one of their books a 5 heart rating.

Do you have an auto-buy list? If so, who’s on it?

  1. I have almost the same list of auto-buy authors! I would add Charliane Harris - I am a Sookie Stackhouse fan!

  3. J.R. Ward, Larissa Ione, Jeaniene Frost, Lara Adrian and Sherrilyn Kenyon are always a must buy no matter how big my TBR pile is.

  4. I haven't read that much yet, but J.K. Rowling, Cecelia Ahern and Sophie Kinsella. Kinda slow at buying all (moneyyy!) but I'll get all of them eventually.

  8. So I completely forgot I was guest blogging over here today! Oh well. Guess that's what my Google Reader is for, right? Lol. Anyways, thanks for having me, and it's been great reading everyone's lists!

  9. JR Ward is my crack, so anything by her and JD Robb. Also Meredith Duran who writes wonderful historical romances.

  10. Great topic. I do have auto buys but they generally revolve around series and not just an author. For example... an auto buy for me is Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, but I haven't read any of her other stories. Some books are auto reads - meaning I'll get them from the library. Other authors I just adore - like Nalini Singh, Meljean Brook and Larissa Ione and buy their stuff!
