Description from Goodreads:
There are two sides to every breakup. This is Jordan and Courtney, totally in love. Sure, they were an unlikely high school couple. But they clicked; it worked. They're even going to the same college, and driving cross-country together for orientation. Then Jordan dumps Courtney -- for a girl he met on the Internet. It's too late to change plans, so the road trip is on. Courtney's heartbroken, but figures she can tough it out for a few days. La la la -- this is Courtney pretending not to care. But in a strange twist, Jordan cares. A lot. Turns out, he's got a secret or two that he's not telling Courtney. And it has everything to do with why they broke up, why they can't get back together, and how, in spite of it all, this couple is destined for each other.

My Thoughts:
The first thing that caught my eye was the cover. A guy, a girl and a car with a tagline that reads "A road trip with her ex? Danger ahead...". Count me in! I love me a good romance story with conflict.

Jordan and Courtney couldn't be more opposite. Jordan's a bit of a player and is looking to score with a cheerleader at a party, when he runs into Courtney. Courtney's there to proclaim her love for an old friend but then Jordan pops into the picture. Courtney's not like all the other girls Jordan is used to. And this is what attracts him to her. The two become a couple. A wrench is thrown into the mix early on in their relationship. One, that effects both Jordan and Courtney causing them to break up. But they still must take their pre-planned road trip to college.

I am a big fan of alternating point of views. You get both sides of the story and feel more intimate with the characters. Barnhodlt does this splendidly. I also like her ability to take the reader from present to past (and back to the present again), bringing you up to speed with why things are the way they are. Barnholdt brings her characters to life. I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future.
