From Book to Movie: Dear John

Dear John is one of my favorite books by Nicholas Sparks. When I heard that it was being made into a movie, I knew I'd have to see it. The book was a heart wrencher so I know I'm going to be crying like a baby when I watch the movie. The beautiful Amanda Seyfried looks like a great fit for Savannah and I like Channing Tatum as John (isn't he a hottie?!!). I plan on watching it with a couple of my girlfriends who assure me that my sobbing won't embarrass them. I will definitely get this on DVD to add to my collection.

Dear John comes out February 5, 2010.

Have you read Dear John? Are you planning on watching the movie?

I sooo much want to see it, I almost picked up the book the other day, but resisted - I LOVE Sparks, but his books always always get me going. I probably will not see this one till it hits DVD...no one really to see it with, but I am looking forward to it. the Trailer looks amazing...I love both these actors

I read the book during summer and it was so sad, especially John and his dad. I kind of want to go see it with my friends, but I hate crying in public... I think both actors fit the role perfectly and I love Amanda Seyfried so I have to see it in theaters.

I haven't read the book yet but I have it thanks to you! You forgot to mention that you'll be guest reviewing the book over on my blog the first week of February! This book is definitely on my list to read. Not sure if I'll see the movie yet. I don't like to sob in public LOL

I have read the book. Nicholas Sparks is a favorite on mine. I never had read anything by him, until I started dating my hubby back in 99. He read the Notebook out loud to me and I have been hooked ever since ( both to hubby and Nicholas Sparks). We are going on a date to see it on the 6th... sitter is already set up for the monkey's

I must confess I'm not much of a Nicholas Sparks person because they always end so sad and I feel jipped since I read the whole book and someone DIES! But if this ends happy then I might... :)

Jenn - I always cry when I read one of his books. He has a way of tugging on my emotional strings. But I can't help myself; even though I know I'll be crying like a baby, I still have to read his books.

Adriana - I would really much prefer to either go by myself or wait til the DVD comes out but my friend really wants me to go with her. Note to self: Do not wear eye make up that day....

FV - I did forget to mention that! Wanna be my editor? I'll put a post on my blog the day you schedule the post. You gotta read soon. Within 5 books, okay?

Tena - OMG that is so sweet that your hubby read The Notebook to you!!!!

Raspberry - No comment in regards to the ending of Dear John :X

Robby - I've finally seen all the movies based on his work. I have to watch them alone so I can cry like a baby LOL

I read this book and I loved it. I cried multiple times while getting through it. Nicolas Sparks has this amazing ability to tell a really powerful story.

I will definitely being seeing this, Channing Tatum as John just makes it that much better, Although in the book I pictured older actors... I wonder if they will play the older John and Savannah....

    :]
